We are honored to introduce our latest apartment (Dec. of 2023), especially designed to offer comfort as well as accessibility, so much needed in Athenian short-term rentals. In the same A.U.R.A. building there are 4 more apartments on four different floors. This one may be connected to a larger one found on the same level. The space We are happy to inform prospective guests that the apartment fully complies with accessibility standards, served by an elevator, and accessed from the street without stairs. It was carefully designed to offer convenience and comfort to any traveler with or without disability needs. It offers a spacious bedroom and convenient open closet, a fully accessible bathroom, a living space with a sofa bed, a second full bathroom and kitchenette. A cute little green rooftop planted with care embraces one's relaxing time in the bedroom. During the creation of the accessibility features we were unpleasantly surprised to realize we were the FIRST apartment in Athens for guests with disabilities. We have followed official guidelines, volunteering wheelchair travelers’ valuable input we are extremely thankful to and sought further advice to acquire a certification from counselors on vision impairment and mobility disability. Ask us for more. The building: Note - The building's entrance and elevator doors are wide enough for wheelchairs but not automatic. Travelers with mobility needs may need to be accompanied through both doors. We are pleased to have our office located on the ground floor next to the building entrance to offer assistance, tips and ideas to any visitor. More about our effort through the years: Unlike most of the newest constructions in Athens, we have invested in renewable resources for the entire building: Geothermal energy, recently replaced by heat pumps and solar energy. Our aim is to guarantee an absolute heating and cooling effect with full autonomy per apartment, through an under-floor system (for long-term stays) and fan coils in each room for full autonomy per bedroom, plus hot running water at all hours, and the heating of the swimming pool at the building's rooftop (exclusively offered to guests of the A.U.R.A. Penthouse). Contact us and we will be pleased to guide you accordingly. GUESTS WITH VISION IMPAIRMENT MAY WISH FOR A FEW MORE INSIGHTS… The walkway ahead from the street to our entrance is about 14 steps. Along the street, on both sides, there are public rails 90cm high, with openings every now and then as well as in front of the various coffee places and restaurants which are across from our building. At the moment there are four lovely seating spots offering drinks, snacks and meals and which extend to about 110 meters. The apartment’s description in more detail: Entering the apartment (door opening to the left) we found ourselves in an entrance hall of 3m X 2.90m width. This part is shared with our other apartment on the same level which extends to the left. On the wall across from the entrance door there is a metal coat hunger at eye level. To the right, half a meter from the door is a bench about 35cm high and to the left a wall closet with a washing machine, cleaning products, drying rack and iron. To enter the apartment, we open a door to the right of the bench. We first have a closed walk-in closet on our left, then a kitchenette (refrigerator and freezer, two ring induction hobs and sink). Continuing straight we have a door to the left for the adapted bathroom to physical accessibility, a living area or bedroom with sofa bed and a large folding door and further to the right a large bedroom and second shower bathroom. The bedroom has the bed(s) across from its entrance door and to the right a 115m sliding window door which opens to a small balcony and a non-accessible roof top green area. The bedroom is equipped with a convenient open closet and wardrobe lifting mechanism for accessibility. Between the bedroom and second bathroom we have another shelf and a down cupboard, with more electrical appliances, like a coffee machine, a kettle and a microwave adapted to vision impaired people. Guest access Parking is offered on the premises on the ground floor, upon request and based on availability. There is an elevator serving all floors and no stairs at the entrances. Other things to note Guests should be informed that the initial rate is for up to 2 guests. For more than 2 guests: Automatic 40€ extra charge per guest per night. This policy was judged as being to the advantage of smaller and larger groups. Prospective guests are requested to include the final number of guests in their inquiry. New taxes were introduced in Greece recently, for all reservations made after 01.01.2024. As a result the total booking price is affected. More specifically; • A 13% V.A.T. is added to the booking price. • A Transient Occupancy Tax (0.75%) is included in the booking price. • A Climate Crisis Resilience Fee (0.50€ or 1.50€ / per night depending on the season), is required to be paid at the end of the stay. - As per January 1st, 2025 the Climate Crisis Resilience Fee is modified from 0.50€ to 2€ and from 1.50€ to 8€ and is included in the total booking price for all reservations made after December 1st, 2024.
