Mausund - The pearl of the sea! Private berth at the cabin!

Mausund is an island outside Frøya on the Trøndelag coast and the largest fishing village south of Røst in Lofoten. Out here you will get close to the ocean. The people who live there are very hospitable and happy to have a chat with you. If you want to fish, go kayaking or just relax, then don't hesitate.....! And chances are you'll come back! Welcome to the open sea! The space The house is from the 1880s, but completely renovated. The low ceiling height makes the rooms intimate. The floors and walls creak a little as they should in 140-year-old houses ;) In the 1800s, people hardly had food on the table, so building houses required creativity and perseverance. This house is assembled from two small timber boxes (flat timber) that come from other places on the island. Otherwise, it is: - New bathroom and kitchen from 2018. - New kitchen from 2017/18. The kitchen invites to good cooking, and the living room facilitates cosiness and fun. - The 2nd floor consists of two rooms, with a total of 9 beds. Three of the beds are 120 x 200 cm, one bed is 160 x 200 cm and one bed is 100 x 200 cm. - The outdoor area is brand new, with several terraces and seating areas on different levels. Here you can sit shielded and enjoy the sun from morning to evening. Private seating area outside to eat meals. - By the lake you can enjoy long lazy days or active hours with the children. From the floating jetty you can swim, fish small pollock and fish crab. If you want to sit inside by the lake, there is a very nice room where you can enjoy yourself until late in the evening under heat lamps and nice lighting. Private outdoor barbecue is right by the jetty. Guest access Here you have everything you need, and access to the sea is only 30 meters away. There you will find a boathouse where you can grill your fish, or just sit along the jetty in an indescribably pleasant atmosphere. From the floating jetty it is perfect to fish for crabs. In addition to the cabin and the boathouse, you have access to a floating jetty, gas grill, charcoal grill by the lake, fire pan, outdoor area with several terraces, dining table and benches for breakfast and dinner outside etc. Here you can just enjoy lazy, lovely days. If you come traveling with your own boat, you have your own access to the floating jetty. There is some limitation on boat size and depth in the sea at the shore. Other things to note At Mausund you will find: - Playground on the school grounds - Ballbinge - The pool (opening hours can be found on the information board at the store) - Grocery store with good selection - Havna Café - Matrosen restaurant - There may be an opportunity for eagle safari upon request During your stay, you can rent: - 14 ft Buster aluminum boat with 10 hp outboard motor. Get in touch for price. - SUP boards: - Life jackets: Available in several sizes, but not for children under 10 years. Fishing gear must be brought if you want to fish. Grindstone and water access are located down on the dock. It's worth noting that there are hundreds of islets and reefs around Mausund. If you are not familiar with the archipelago, you should only stay close to the island. All additional rentals are made at your own risk. Guests must familiarize themselves with the technical specifications that relate to the object, such as how many people can be in the individual boat, etc. As a guest and tenant, you are financially and technically responsible for what you rent, and liable if something should be destroyed/damaged. All rentals must be confirmed via Airbnb before starting the rental so this is ready for use.
