PLACES TO VISIT IN THE AREA: In the immediate vicinity of the home you will find both Drachmann’s Hus and Krøyer’s Hus. In Drachmann's Hus you can experience how the famous poet and painter lived. Krøyer’s Hus is only open to the public at a few special events in July. On a daily basis, the Danish Nature Agency Vendsyssel is located in the building and it is not open for visits. If you want to start the day with a refreshing dip in the sea, you choose between the beach at Damstederne and the beach at Klitgården Refugium (‘Kongevillaen’ in everyday speech. The former summer residence for King Chr. X and Queen Alexandrine). South of Skagen Harbor at Skipperskolen, Den Røde Skurby (village of red sheds) and Skagen Kayak Club, you will find more great beaches. After breakfast, maybe fresh rolls picked up at Krages Bakery 400 meters from the holiday home, a visit to Grenen, Denmark's outermost tip, where the two gardens Kattegat and Skagerrak meet is highly recommended. The place is a MUST on your holiday to-do list. On the way to Grenen, you pass Det Grå Fyr (the Grey Lighthouse), Center for Migratory Birds, if you want to learn more about the many migratory birds that pass Grenen every year.
