Nestled between the Knüllwald and Fulda valleys, in the middle of the North Hessian mountains, lies the Rotkäppchenland. The name is reminiscent of the home of the Brothers Grimm and is part of the German Fairy Tale Route. Numerous well-developed hiking and cycling trails invite you to explore culture and nature, such as the Rotkäppchenland railroad cycle path, the Schwalm cycle path and the Fulda cycle path. The Little Red Riding Hood Region is also characterized by a large number of museums, which provide excellent insights into the history of the region and numerous special features. Bad Hersfeld, which is only a few kilometers away and welcomes visitors with a fantastic half-timbered old town as well as numerous spa, cultural and leisure activities, is also a highly recommended excursion.
