Five Acre Barn Room Five

A room in this highly rated B&B. Unwind in award winning architecture set in five acres of garden and woodland on the Suffolk Coast. Eclectic, urban styling meets rural retreat. Amazing breakfasts, cakes and dog friendly too. Room five has a king-size bed set in a large single level room . There is both a wet room shower (fully accessible) and luxury bathroom. There is a lobby in which a single bed can be added on request.. The space The B&B has five separate guest rooms housed in a unique, cedar shingle clad volume - one of RIBA's best buildings of 2018. The zig zag roofline means that each room enjoys a soaring ceiling and the large rooflights ensure that it is flooded with light. Decor is bright, modern and overall has a vibe that's combination of Scandi and mid century. Guest access All guests have full access to the Barn and breakfast is served here on a long communal table (or in the summer outside on the large deck) . Decoration is eclectic - lots of house plants, mid century furniture, ceramics and art, There is a large log burner to keep things toasty in the winter and with large glass doors thrown open in the summer. There is a beautiful ply wood kitchen (where you can watch us prepare breakfast) and although we don't allow cooking, guests are welcome to prepare snacks etc. The garden wraps around the whole building with different 'rooms' coming to the fore at different times of the year - a white garden, cottage garden, gravel garden, Japanese inspired space and deep beds of ornamental gardens by the guest rooms. During your stay We are definitely hosts and not simply owners - we are friendly, informal and enjoy chatting to our guests. We will greet you on arrival with an offer of tea and homemade cake, we are in the barn together at breakfast and we are always available for advice on the area - the best beaches, places for lunch, independent shops etc. That said as we've been doing this for several years we have learned to tailor our approach - as much or as little interaction as you would like. Other things to note Breakfast is great here (Jay Rayner can't be wrong!) - with lots of choices including full English, Eggs Benedict, Latkes, waffles, ham & cheese croissant, porridge. We cater for all allergies and preferences and there are plenty of veggie and vegan options.
