The Old Post Office Exford, Exmoor National Park

Right on the Exford village green in the centre of the Exmoor National Park. The village has a very well stocked village shop, two great country Inns and an excellent tea room a short walk across the green. Exford is an excellent location for walking, rambling, cycling and generally exploring Exmoor along with visiting the wider local area. The main towns of Barnstaple, Tiverton and Taunton are all about 25 miles away, whilst the smaller towns of Minehead and South Molton are 15 miles away. The space The accommodation is situated in what was the old Exford Post Office and Stores and is both light and spacious consisting of the following. The living room has a large TV with Freeview along with a Roku system allowing access to Netflix, etc. for films along with a DVD player, assorted board games and playing cards, a two-seater leather sofa, a coffee table and a coat stand. The kitchenette area has a table with two chairs, sink, combination microwave, air fryer, fridge with freezer section, toaster, kettle, Nespresso Coffee machine, cafetière, and all small kitchen utensils. The bedroom contains a double bed with memory foam topper, side tables and lights, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Both these rooms contain double sockets with built in USB points to allow phone charging. In addition there is a large fully equipped shower room, Breakfast is normally available at the tea rooms just across the village green or at either of the village pubs. Both a folding travel cot and bath are available if required. One well-behaved dog is welcome with a charge of £10.00 but we do not allow dogs on the furniture. A dog blanket, towel, and bowl are provided if required. Parking is normally available right outside the property, however there is a large public car park about 100 yards away with free parking. Since coronavirus, we’re taking extra steps to clean and sanitise all hard surfaces and frequently touched surfaces between reservations. Guest access Whilst the apartment is within the main house the accommodation is totally self contained with its own entrance door directly off the front garden, with two steps down, to allow guests to come and go as they please without any restrictions or contact. A small patio table and two chairs are just outside the front door where you can sit in relax in the sunshine, overlooking the village green. Other things to note Our village shop has had a major renovation and stocks all your immediate daily needs, including groceries, bread, milk, newspapers, postcards, etc., along with a great range of small gifts. They are open from 7.30 am to 6 pm Mon-Sat and 9.00 am - 12.30 Sun. (Please note that we are very happy to put together a basket of provisions for you which will be here ready for your arrival – Let us know in advance, and I will arrange this.) The nearest supermarket (including a Post Office) and fuel station is approx. 5 miles away in Wheddon Cross on the road into the village from the Taunton / Minehead direction. Directly across the green from the apartment is the Exford Bridge Tea Rooms, which is rightly renowned for their great breakfasts and light meals. The village also has an excellent garage if your vehicle should require any attention during your stay. Both the village pubs, The Exmoor White Horse Inn and The Crown Hotel have a large selection of local beers, wines, and ciders along with excellent food, both having either bar snacks and restaurant service. The Exmoor White Horse Inn has a renowned Malt Corner for fans of this wonderful drink for connoisseurs to enjoy and they also offer a takeaway service for food if required The large village green, which is a dog-free zone, is directly opposite the apartment with about 2 acres of lush grass with a modern children's play area on the far side. There is a huge range of walks available to suit all ages and capabilities, literally starting in the village or within a short drive Electric car charging facilities are available at the White Horse Inn and at the Royal Forest Hotel in Simonsbath
