The space This space is located on the second floor of our custom built 8 year old country house that was originally intended to be an in-law suite. You will have total privacy in this space above our home along with access to acreage. A private entrance located up a flight of stairs on the outside allows you to have a totally secluded space inside the main house. There are 2 full bedrooms with a Queen bed in each room and a 3rd twin rollaway bed which will make it 3 beds in total. There are 2 full baths and you will never run out of hot water! There is an instant hot water tank so the hot water is endless! There is a standing water dispenser that serves cold and hot water for those who do not like well water. Working from home? There is a comfortable desk space in one of the bedrooms so if you need privacy you can shut the door and work away! Each bedroom has convenient charging places for your cell phone right next to your bed and a TV. There is also a large TV in the living room. There is access to full TV/cable services from COMCAST as well as extras such as MAX and NETFLIX for your usage. There is a gas grill and patio set located outside that you are able to use as well as plenty of outdoor chairs to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Wake up to deer roaming the yard right outside of your upstairs balcony! Truly, an outdoor sanctuary. Please note: We have a second rental on the same property that sleeps 5 additional people. Please follow our profile to find the second one! Great for family or friend gatherings! Guest access Guests can enjoy walking through the woods on the back 2 acres of the property as well as the back yard not directly in back of the owners side of the house. Please note: The space around the separate building (small barn) is restricted due to our second rental being in that building. The yards located around the front, porch and back of the main house are for homeowner use only. Other things to note Located 15 minutes from the Indiana Dunes National Park and Lake Michigan! A cooler, towels and beach blanket provided for your convenience to enjoy the beach while you are here! Not going anywhere? Then enjoy 2 acres of woods, take a walk through woods, watch trains go by on the back part of our property, grill a meal on the grill or just sit outside and enjoy nature. Want to visit Chicago? This property is close to a train to take you into the city of Chicago so you won't have to fuss with parking and parking $$! Come to the area for the Indiana Dunes National Park bird festival!! May 15-18, 2025. Interested in a special experience? The Saturday after Thanksgiving, a Christmas train comes through on the tracks behind our property. It is all lit up in Christmas lights and plays music! A bonfire is built in the woods as you wait to see this truly unique train...it usually hits our way around 3-5 a.m. but WELL WORTH getting up early! The Burdick Station is located on 4 acres in the country where you will find walking trails through woods where you can observe nature or watch the train go by along the far side of the acreage. The train tracks are located off of our property approximately 1/8 of a mile away. It is truly a great stop! Please note: When entering the number of people in your reservation, children 2 and above count in the number of guests. Because of our firm cancellation policy, please consider getting the insurance AIRBNB offers just in case something comes up.
