Casa Nicté · 18th-century, hot tub & A/C
Casa Nicté, hospédate en una casa del siglo XVIII
Description
Sleep inside a real 18th-century colonial home within Campeche's UNESCO World Heritage walled city. Every bedroom has air conditioning — a must in tropical Campeche. Relax at your private hot tub surrounded by white stone walls, watch the cathedral towers from a rooftop hammock, and explore the city on our complimentary bicycles. Original Mayan-floral tile floors, double-height timber ceilings, and a courtyard fountain await you. The space Casa Nicté (restored 2021) is an authentic 18th-century colonial mansion in the heart of Campeche's historic center — a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site since 1999 and one of the few walled cities in the Americas. Casa Nicté means "flower" in Mayan. The name comes from the four types of original encaustic tile floors — all with floral patterns — that cover the house. The central courtyard has a carved stone fountain in the shape of a flower and three Sak Nicté trees that perfume the air. A decoration that guests remember and highlight on every visit. Relax in the spacious living room with yellow tile floors and colonial double-height timber ceilings. Cook typical Campechean recipes in the fully equipped kitchen with induction stove, coffee maker, and microwave. Under the pergola, enjoy the sound of the fountain from a rocking chair or one of the hammocks — the interior space most praised by our guests. Relax in the private hot tub surrounded by tall white stone walls or stretch out on the sun loungers. The perfect rest after exploring the walled city. Both bedrooms feature memory foam mattresses and private air conditioning. Wake up refreshed, take a long shower, and head to the rooftop terrace to watch the sun rise over Campeche's cathedral towers.
