Gensing Lodge is a Victorian building on the East Sussex coast - part home, part gallery - brought back to life with genuine care and an eye for what makes a place feel truly worth staying in. Staying here, you are part of something that gives back.   Living space The main living area carries the full weight of the building's history. High ceilings, intricate original cornicing, and stained glass details set a tone that no amount of renovation could manufacture. A decorative indoor fireplace draws you in on cooler evenings, while a flat-screen TV and Bluetooth sound system make for easy, unhurried nights in. A curated collection of books and reading material gives the room a relaxed atmosphere, and central heating keeps the Lodge comfortably warm year-round. Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace in the common area mean longer stays are every bit as practical as a slow weekend by the sea.   Sleeping arrangements Spread across two levels - with living areas and bedrooms on separate floors - the Lodge has the feel of a settled, well-loved home. Three bedrooms each feature a double bed, comfortably sleeping up to six guests in total. Every room is set up for genuine rest: bed linens, extra pillows and blankets, room-darkening shades, clothing storage, and hangers are all provided.   Kitchen & dining The fully equipped kitchen is built for cooking at your own pace, with no shortcuts taken on the essentials. A stainless steel gas stove, stainless steel double oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and dishwasher cover the main bases - rounded out by cooking basics, dishes and silverware, a french press coffee maker, hot water kettle, toaster, blender, baking sheet, and wine glasses. Coffee is provided. The dining table is the natural gathering point for slow mornings and long meals shared with the people you travelled with.   Bathroom & laundry The bathroom is fitted with a bathtub and stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower gel, and a hair dryer. For longer stays, a washer, drying rack, and iron are all on hand, with a laundromat nearby for extra capacity when you need it.   Family & pets Gensing Lodge is pet-friendly and well set up for families with young children. A crib, Pack 'n Play/travel crib, and standalone high chair are always at the listing, alongside children's books and toys, children's dinnerware, and board games - everything needed to keep younger guests entertained from the first day to the last.   Safety & practicalities Two exterior security cameras are in place - one in the hallway for the safety of neighbouring properties, and one outside the building. No internal cameras are installed. A smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, and first aid kit are all present. Self check-in is via lockbox, luggage drop-off is available for early arrivals and late departures, and cleaning can be arranged during your stay.   Parking & location Free parking is available on the premises and on the street, with paid parking off premises also nearby. Shared beach access is a short walk away.
