The space The Lodge is one of the remaining guard lodges of the original Denbies country estate and has been extended over the years with a separate timber cottage outbuilding. The main house has two large bedrooms and a small study. There is a well-equipped kitchen, with adjacent dining room. Two bathrooms and a sizeable living room with wood burner complete the main accommodation. The timber cottage has its own kitchenette, shower room, sitting area and double bedroom. With the 3 bedrooms the property comfortably sleeps 6 adults. There is plenty of additional space in the office and/or cottage for extra matrasses (to bring yourself). There are extensive gardens around the house offering stunning views of the vineyard and the countryside. A firepit, outdoor table and chairs are available for use. The property is located on a dead-end lane that turns into a public footpath (part of the North Downs Way). There is ample parking available. A garden gate provides direct access to Denbies Vineyard, where you'll also find a coffee shop, fully stocked farm shop, cafeteria and restaurant. All just a few minutes walk away. And their wine tours are a must! The pretty village of Westhumble is a 10min walk away (through the field or along the main road) and has a lively country pub that serves food all day. There are countless other country pubs in the area short drives away. Across the main road, you find the famous Stepping Stones crossing the river Mole and from where you can climb Box Hill with its stunning views. Or bring your bike and attempt the Olympic climb on 2 wheels. The pretty market town of Dorking is a 5mins drive away. It has all amenities including a Michelin-starred restaurant, a cinema and mainline station into London Waterloo and Victoria. There are numerous attractions in the area, especially if you like the outdoors. Denbies Lodge is a perfect place to explore the Surrey Hills from with very easy car and public transport access. Guest access You'll have full access to the property and surrounding gardens. Other things to note This is our recently-purchased home in the Surrey Hills that we are offering out to short-term and holiday lets before carrying out some refurbishments in the new year. The conservatory in the pictures has now been removed. Fittings and furniture are basic but there should be everything you need. The rates shown are for the main house. An additional charge applies for use of the timber cottage. Do contact us for any enquiries, questions or specific dates or discounts. Note - a rail line backs on to the land on the east-side but presents minimal disturbance (no bedrooms face that way and the trains are not very frequent and slow). Small gatherings and parties are perfectly acceptable but please keep noise down after 11pm. Denbies Vineyard may hold events - do check their website for latest info. Any noise tends to die down after 11pm. The house is perfectly child-friendly. The main bedroom and a bathroom are up a comfortable staircase on the first floor. You're more than welcome to bring your own stairgates. Well-behaved pets are also perfectly welcome.
