Two Brode in Arniston

Experience the old world charm of one of the first seafront houses in Arniston with all the modern luxury amenities of a five star hotel. Twee Brode (originally called Oupa se Huis) was owned by well known local farmers, the Aggenbach family, for close to a century. This house was sold in 2018 and had undergone a full renovation. The latest updates were completed in December 2023. The space We kept all the original features and decided to retain the farmstead style of separate bathrooms to recall the way that people holidayed by the seaside in days gone by. The original name reflected the fact that Mrs Aggenbach’s father gifted her the house. We changed the name to Twee Brode (two bread loaves) referencing the Sermon on the Mount and the multiplication of the fish and the bread. The name also hints at the two historic Cape Dutch style gables. Twee Brode is the perfect holiday choice for an extended multi-generation family, because there is ample room for a mixture of lifestyles and rhythms. The original waenhuis (garage) was converted to a cosy, fully equipped braaikamer (barbecue room) - dishwasher, large flat screen TV and utilities included. This facility, with its unobstructed sea views, is the ideal entertainment area for when the weather is not perfect. For those stunning balmy seaside evenings there is also a large new stoep (veranda) with garden boma area for the true South African outdoor experience. Winter in Arniston is a special time to relax with a book, go for longs strolls, listen to the crashing waves and cook hearty meals. Twee Brode has a wonderful fireplace and all bedrooms are equipped with heating. In summertime, open the windows and feel the breeze! Special lockable shutters allow for security and the freedom to sleep with open windows. All rooms have large ceiling fans to ensure cosy comfort at all times. Guest access The keys to the house will be in a lock box at the office of Etnas Southern Tip. The code to this lock box will be sent to you after your booking is confirmed. We do supply the following: Linen and extra blankets Bath towels & Beach towels Braai grid This house comes with a daily cleaning service This house has an inverter and solar panels for lights, WIFI and TV’s during load shedding. It also has gas geysers and gas stove. Do not forget to bring the following with you: Wood (if you want to braai) as well as fire lighters Spices, coffee, food etc. as this is a fully self catering house
