Casa da Torre dates back to the mid-18th century, although it has undergone significant transformations throughout its history. Located on the right bank of the Douro River, facing south and west, it offers stunning views over the the Douro Valley. The property features 3 independent houses, former agricultural buildings, now adapted for rural tourism. Surrounded by orange groves and organically farmed vineyards. The swimming pool offers panoramic views over the Douro River. The space 🏡 Casa da Eira was originally an agricultural building dating back to the 1930s. Its purpose was to receive the corn harvested from fields rented to local farmers, who would deliver their share of the crop at the beginning of autumn. The corn cobs were then stored in the original granary, still preserved today on the upper floor of the house. 🌽 The cobs remained in the granary for around six months, drying naturally thanks to the wind passing through the wooden slats of the walls. In spring, the cobs were brought down from the granary to the eaves through two openings that are still visible today, and were spread out to dry in the threshing floor during the day. At night, they were gathered back under the eaves to protect them from humidity. 🏞 In the year 2000, Casa da Eira was converted into a two-bedroom house with two bathrooms, a living room with a fireplace, a kitchenette, and an infinity pool in the adjacent field. Guest access The Douro railway line runs just above our property. Mosteirô train station is only 1 km away and offers easy access to Porto (1h10) or the heart of the Douro Valley, such as Régua (30 min) and Pinhão (1h). Other things to note We are pet-friendly! However, we would like to remind you that we also have a dog (English Setter), very friendly with other people and dogs, who usually roams freely inside the property. Registration Details 11500
