Cozy Cabin

Relax with family and friends in this peaceful place in the mountains. This getaway is nested in the middle of nature. This cute A frame cabin is warm and cozy and a great place to make memories. Enjoy the wood burning stove with a cup of hot coco at night or roast S'more's on the campfire. Enjoy the view of the deer in the mornings out of one of the many windows. This cabin is a place to get away and enjoy nature. There are 2 lakes to fish and tons of trails to hike and forest to explorer. The space Upstairs there are 4 beds. One full bed in a room by itself, off to each side of the stair there are sleeping areas, one bunk bed twin over full and one twin by itself. There is a smart TV in the bedroom. Downstairs there is a futon if you need more sleeping space then what is upstairs. There is a 65-inch smart TV in the living room with Netflix. There is Wi-Fi in the cabin and also a desk for a work area. There is base board heat and also a wood burning stove in the living room. In the kitchen you will find a small table for dining, a coffee station with a Keurig and all different kinds of coffee and hot coco. There is a microwave, and an oven/air fryer, there a normal stove top for cooking and a full side refrigerator. Also, a washer and driver in the hall closet. There is a Grill on the porch and a firepit in the back yard. Guest access You have the whole cabin to yourself. The cabin sits on almost an acre. There is one neighbor on one side but not close. There is very spotty cell service depending on your carrier. The Wi-Fi works great for Wi-Fi calling. Other things to note During winter, when the internal roads are closed, you need to park at the winter parking lot and traverse the remaining mile to the cabin by snowmobile, snowshoe, of skis. The cabin is not far from the winter parking area after the trails for the snowmobiles has formed you can walk in with just snow boots. If you would like to rent Snowmobiles, please contact property owner for more information. The construction is on hold for the winter 2024 and the road is open in both direction with no delays. Construction will begin again in the spring in late April or early May no date has been decided at this time. This cabin is within Arrowhead, a mountain home community located between Gunnison and Montrose, south of highway 50 on the Alpine Plateau Road. From May, into November, the cabin is accessible by car. When there is adequate snow, usually in November, the roads within Arrowhead are closed to car and truck traffic. There are 2 lakes that are stocked to fish and tons of forest to explorer. Blue mesa lake is 17 miles away as well as Lake City. Ouray is a 1.5-hour drive away. As of now there is major road construction on US highway 50 that will impact travel to the cabin. ​ No construction in winter 2024, the road is open in both directions with no delays. Updated travel announcement for night closures: There are no nighttime closures scheduled through November 10, 2023. Alternating one lane of traffic will be ongoing on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Tuesdays through Thursdays from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Fridays from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ​Traffic delays are long, please be prepared to wait for up to an hour. Regularly scheduled traffic impacts and nighttime full roadway closures will be in place through December of 2023 unless there is a schedule change. The routine traffic schedule is below. Alternating one-lane traffic daytime closures will be on Mondays from 8:30 AM- 7:30 PM. Alternating one-lane traffic daytime closures Tuesday – Thursday are from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM and on Fridays from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Full roadway closures will occur through the night Monday – Thursday 7:30 PM – 6:30 AM. During this time you must take the detour route. US 50 will OPEN to two-way traffic with no delays from Friday at 5:30 PM – Monday at 8:30 AM. Estimated delay times during roadway opening windows are between 35 minutes to one hour. Plan your travel around the opening windows and be prepared to queue at designated areas. Width restrictions in place: Monday - Friday from 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. No loads > 10 ft width; no loads > 80 ft length. On the weekends the width restriction is lifted. Please be careful around traffic control in place. Cycling is not permitted through the project. All cyclists will be turned around.
