Firefly Home in quaint compound
Firefly Home in quaint compound
Description
simple. thoughtful. central. We are Amanda and Umesh (Joshua), a young couple that met in rural Nepal while volunteering at an NGO. Together we have created a space, Junkeri (Firefly) Home, that we hope feels inviting, homey, and brings a sense of community. We are passionate about supporting Nepali artisans, so you’ll find just about everything inside is handmade in Nepal. The home offers many common spaces for leisure and co-working as well as your cozy private space for downtime. The space The Junkeri Home is a beautiful 3-story house with 4 private bedrooms, 2.5 baths (all shared), 2 living/common areas, a full kitchen, dining room, laundry room, sewing room, patio, and rooftop with Himalayan views. It is inside a family-oriented compound containing 6 homes, 3 friendly dogs, and a handful of playful children. It’s a very welcoming community that can be busy during the day but quiets down once the sun sets. We are located at the end of an alleyway away from the road so street noise is minimal, but you are still just a minutes walk from many restaurants, cafes, shops, sites, etc.
