Woodside- The Cottage

Take it easy at this standalone cottage. We promise a clean, private spot with a small stream & tranquil hiking path behind the property. Our getaway is quiet & strategically located within a kilometre from Golf Links & about 15mi s from Polo Bazar We are a host family that loves nothing more than travelling & sharing tales with guests who become more than just guests. We help visitors and travelers with pointers for additional Shillong & Cherrapunji tips, guides, cabs, rides, must do things The space It's quiet, standalone, private and yet well connected. Cosy and pine fresh is how we describe it Our cottage can accommodate 3-4 people (a King size bed, a full sized divan for an adult to sit/sleep & a folding futon sofa bed on the floor. FAQs we answer all the time: 1. Yes it is accessible to elderly with the car till the doorstep. 2. We have hi speed Sky Wifi 3. We don't have any complimentary meals or a kitchen so far. However, we provide on pre-order traditional meals or Indian meals from our very own home kitchen 4. Yes it is a residential area. Lots of grocery stores and a taxi stand in the vicinity 5.The home is also equipped for hot water, tea, sugar, coffee satchets for self service if you wish 6. The toilet and bath is inside & also elderly and knee friendly(lol) cos of the English commode 7. Plenty of buses and cabs around. 8. Very near to Polo Bazar 6mins away and 5-6kms away from Police bazar 9. We have tie ups with bike rentals, cabs, tour operators etc to assist you 10. Plenty of parking for 2-3 cars (no driver accommodation cos we are a homestay) 11. Room cleaning for longer stays is addl as indicated by Airbnb 12. We do not have an inverter, and are not responsible for power cuts or interruption by the Power Deptt(which may happen, this being a hill station in NeR) (We work and live in both Shillong and Mumbai, and travel across the country every opportunity we get. Hence we bring a touch of travel and nostalgia to one and all) Guest access The entire cottage and compound is all accessible for guests including front door parking, hillside hiking path, playground. Other things to note We are a quiet chill place away from the noise & congestion of Police Bazar and typical Shillong traffic. If you look for hotel treatment or room service we are not it !! We are a a homely tranquil place. And we believe we are what you need, if you are logged in to Airbnb!! Also, November onwards, a warm jacket, a shawl and a cap to keep your ears and toes warm is always recommended for the Shillong welcoming chill. If you have a car, no worries, we are a gated compound for security. Kindly be prudent while booking cabs from outstation/ airport/rail station (they might not disclose all expenses or addl costs or driver accommodation) **Please smoke outside in the designated smoking area in the porch or in the seating area behind (and not inside) keeping other residents and guests in mind
