The space The villa is fully air-conditioned throughout with large lounge area, comfortable leather suite with electric recliners, solid French oak dining table seating 8 and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a large flat screen TV with full home theatre surround sound system with both French and UK TV stations. For those chillier nights out of season there is an integral log burning stove. There are 3 good size bedrooms which can be set up as one queen size or two single beds to your personal requirements. All the bedrooms have plenty of hanging and shelf space. The Master suite has its own bathroom with walk-in rainfall shower and sliding doors leading out onto the pool area. There is a further bathroom with bath and shower and close coupled wc serving the other bedrooms, and a separate cloakroom. For those times when you want to prepare meals at the property there is a fully equipped kitchen with induction hob, oven, integrated microwave and built in fridge/freezer. There is also a double sink and dishwasher. The villa has its own private pool which is a modern salt type which is pH neutral, meaning kinder to human skin. It is a uniform depth allowing one to stand up as well as swim. There are steps at one end. The pool is equipped with an electric submerged cover which fully retracts, this cover meets the French safety standard NF P90-308, couvertures de sécurité et dispositifs d’accrochage. The pool is thoroughly cleaned before each rental. The garden has a covered terrace for dining and barbequing, and seating areas with versatile shading. The planting is still developing, but already has areas of oleander, photinia, elaeagnus and cypress, with a wide range of Mediterranean plants and shrubs including winter and summer jasmine. ​ For sun worshippers, there are a good selection of loungers, enough for all guests. There is also a lawned area, very unusual in this part of France and even a pétanque court should you wish to test your skills! Stunning views surround the property in every direction. To the South, you have the Alberes mountain range, including Puig Neulós, the highest mountain in the range. To the North, the plains of Rousillon and beyond. To the West the tower of Laroque village and beyond to Canigou, the sacred mountain of the Catalan people, at 2784 m, and to the East the Mediterranean sea. During autumn, daytime temperatures are comfortable, often reaching 20–25°C, perfect for exploring the south of France. The Mediterranean Sea is still warm enough to enjoy, averaging around 20°C. Laroque Villa is perfectly situated for walking in the Albères mountains and the surrounding countryside. You can even walk from the villa to Spain if you fancy a more challenging trail. For the cooler months, during the day the south-facing terrace is ideal for relaxing and dining in the sun. In the evening, the fully climate-controlled villa remains warm and comfortable, with a log-burning stove in the main living area and wood is provided for your use. Laroque Villa is also perfectly located for cycling in the Albères mountains and along the Mediterranean coast. Quiet country lanes and gentle bike routes take you through vineyards, olive groves, and charming villages, offering a true taste of southern France.
