This Scandanavian Modern home rests in the idealic neighborhood of Chocolate Gulch, just a six minute drive north of charming Ketchum and two miles south of the entrance to the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The space Aspen Glen's contemporary furnishings and industrial gourmet kitchen allow for entertaining in style. Large windows, exposed fir beams and an open floor plan allow for Sun Valley's sunshine to illuminate the home's interiors year-round. Wondrous views of the aspen grove and meadow and mountains are a prominent feature of the main living spaces and master bedroom suite. Create memorable meals in the large, open kitchen equipped with new Wolf M Series convection/steam oven, full size convection oven, warming drawer and Wolf Covey dishwasher (all installed after the photo shoot); a Wolf industrial cooktop and two Subzero refrigerators. A large stainless steel island provides ample workspace. An under-counter wine refrigerator keeps your wines close at hand. The multitude of cabinets house a full complement of quality cookware, small appliances, bakeware and serving dishes. A small collection of spices, oils and baking goods are stored in the pantry. A Breville espresso machine and Breville water kettle are at the ready to start your mornings. You will find a Breville microwave oven in the kitchenette in the lower bedroom suite. The dining table comfortably seats eight. Just behind the kitchen, you will find a desk workspace. The outdoor kitchen island, complete with a DCS gas grill, cooktop, warming drawer and garbage bin, makes summer dinner parties a breeze. The main terrace accommodates a table that seats up to eight diners. In the living room, the extra-large sectional sofa and swivel club chairs provide seating for several people to watch movies on the 4K (high definition) flat screen television. A wood burning fireplace affords the perfect ambiance for warming bodies and souls on cold winter nights. Perched atop the living room, the master suite offers a bird's eye view of Aspen Glen's natural outdoor spaces. A large desk oriented towards the expansive windows serves as an ideal space to put in a full day's work or correspond with family and friends. Adjacent to the gas fireplace, relax with a good book in the chaise lounge. The bathroom consists of double sinks, a soaking tub with a view, rain shower and radiant floor heat. Retire to a California king size bed. Electric blackout shades block the morning sun. Storage bins and baskets are provided for the walk-in closet's shelving system to keep the space well organized. A spiral staircase leads to a very private lower bedroom suite. The living space has a kitchenette with a Breville microwave oven, small walk-in closet, 7-foot desk, bunk bed (twin on top, double on bottom), and long sofa for viewing the 4K television. Enjoy a steam shower in the ensuite bathroom. The entire space is kept warm via radiant floor heat. The suite provides access to a terrace surrounded by flower beds and a view of the aspen grove and mountains. Three guest rooms (two of which are quite small!) span the long entry hallway. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms with showers and radiant floor heat, 4K (high definition) televisions and French doors that open to a lovely woodland courtyard. The largest room contains a California king size bed; the middle room has a double size bed; the room closest to the living room has a queen size bed. A mini crib, with bedding, and high chair are available upon request. Plastic dishes, cups and cutlery are provided. All ensuite bathrooms, entry foyer, mud room and garage are heated via radiant floor heat. The forced air furnace is equipped with a humidifying system. The garage accommodates 2 full-size vehicles. Projects and gift wrapping can be accomplished on the workbench. An additional large closet in the garage, as well as storage closets in the mudroom, provide spaces to store outerwear and outdoor sports gear. Specialty hooks in the garage hold skis and poles. At the end of a day of outdoor activities, nothing feels better than relieving tired muscles in the hot tub. It is positioned to take advantage of the views while offering privacy from the neighbors. The house is outfitted with an entertainment system. Sonos provides sound and all televisions are 4K. Wi-fi works well throughout the house as well as at the river. Fiber optic provides high speed (500 Mbps+) internet service. A Nest system is installed for climate control. The house's security system may be utilized in addition to the use of a small safe for personal items. Should you be visiting the Wood River Valley on a hunting or fishing excursion, two freezers, located in the garage, may be used to store your game. The property draws its water from a well. The water quality and flavor are so high that there is no need to use a filtration system or to buy bottled water! Venture down to the river and pull up a log to warm your toes next to the screened, wood burning fire pit. From late spring to early fall, lounge chairs and a small dining table offer another outdoor entertainment space. Snow will be removed from the driveway by a professional service company. However, if necessary, snow can be managed using the shovels stored in the garage. Our property manager can assist you with using the snow blower. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and riverfront except for the large Liberty safe, large wine refrigerator and storage shed adjacent to the garage. Other things to note Chocolate Gulch does not have a nearby cell tower. Therefore, you will need to utilize wi-fi calling on your cell phone. Once set up, you will receive excellent reception. You are welcome to use the house telephone for any local and toll free calls.
