Beautiful Newly Built Lake House

Stay in a well-equipped brand-new home on a secluded mountain lake yet have all the advantages of a resort right on your doorstep. Built in 2023, Summerscales is nestled on the privately owned Bald Mountain Lake but within the gates of the Rumbling Bald Resort and adjacent to Lake Lure. Enjoy the serene lake view and see the sunrise over the mountains from any room in the house. The space A unique home with many custom features and a light and airy floor plan, Summerscales is not just another Airbnb; it was designed and built carefully as the owners as a home away from home. The views from every room in the house look eastward across the lake towards Youngs Mountain. While enjoying the morning sunrise, you might see deer, beaver, geese, ducks, heron, fish, turtles and, on the odd occasion, bears. Go for a swim, paddle around the lake on one of our paddle boards, take one of the boats out and go fishing, take a walk or a hike, or just doze on the screened porch with a book and a glass of wine. Bald Mountain Lake is populated by low density houses occupied by residents and holiday makers. It’s small and quiet with mainly swimmers, people fishing, and those on paddle boards and manually powered boats with only the occasional electric boat with nothing more than a five-horsepower engine. Conveniently located within the Rumbling Bald Resort, all amenities are a 15 minute walk on a quiet road or just a 2- minute car ride. The resort boasts an 18-hole golf course, mini-golf, golf cart and boat rentals, an outdoor pool, pickle ball courts, lighted tennis courts, sandy beach, spa, playground, fitness trail, and two restaurants. Lake Lure which should be opening in spring 2026 can be accessed from inside the resort. Here you can rent a pontoon boat and cruise around the big lake. Open the front door to the foyer and you will immediately notice the beams lining the ceiling throughout the main level. On the right the vaulted ceiling of the main living room with the exposed beams and two-story fireplace with gas logs captures the eye as does the view from the windows. To the left, the chef's kitchen features a large, reclaimed wood kitchen island and dining room with views of the lake and mountains. Glass doors provide access to the deck at the back and the screened porch at the side. One side of the porch houses another table for 8 and the other a large comfortable seating area. A couple turns up the cable rail staircase takes you to the landing which overlooks the living room. Here there is a twin daybed and cabinet for storage. Down the hall is the primary bathroom with vaulted ceiling which offers a double vanity, large rain shower and freestanding bathtub in front of the window with a view over the lake. Further along the hall, the primary bedroom again with vaulted and beamed ceiling offers a king size canopy bed, spacious closet, chair, and three chests for storage. The lower level is reached by taking the stairs from the main level. Nine- foot ceilings, large windows, and tall doorways give this level an open feel. On the lower level you will find the “Fish Room” offering two twin beds and chests for storage. Next, the “Green Room” offers a queen-sized bed and closet and dresser for storage. These bedrooms share a large bathroom offering a combination tub and shower. At the other end of the hall is the “Map Room”. This is the final bedroom which also doubles as a recreation room. It offers a queen-sized Murphy bed, sofa, TV, game table, and access to a second back deck with seating and storage area for floats and stairs down to the patio and dock. The Map Room has an en-suite shower room and large closet and dresser for storage. Also on the lower level is a fully equipped laundry room. Amenities include: Access to the Rumbling Bald Resort, 2-storey fireplace with gas logs, chef's kitchen, gas BBQ grill, board game table with many games, horseshoe pit, corn hole, 1 paddle board, 4 kayaks, a canoe, various floats and noodles, outdoor dining table and chairs, highchair, pack and play, lake towels, soap, shampoo & conditioner, parking for up to 8+ cars. Guest access The whole house is available with exception of the storage shed, utility spaces, and locked storage areas. Other things to note Safety: -Families with small children must keep a close eye on them around the property. Staircases, tall decks, and the waterfront, watercraft, etc., present hazards to young ones (and intoxicated adults). -Guests are also responsible to abide by Bearwise recommendations for bear country. Security: For your safety and security, Ring cameras are in operation in the parking area and outside the front door. Parking: Four designated parking spots are available in front of the shed near the road. Two additional cars may park perpendicular to those cars. Four additional cars may park in the driveway. Spaces are also available in the pull off just above the front of the house. Additional parking may be available across the road from the shed. Small gatherings: Up to 15 guests permitted with prior approval. Fishing: A fishing license is not required to fish on Bald Mountain Lake.
