From a place in Tasmania, where the sheds lean under the weather, and the water weaves down the mountains, sits Clearwater cabin. Nestled in a wildlife corridor on the edge of world heritage listed rainforest, the hand built timber cabin is the ultimate retreat to relax or explore the Great Western Tiers, Cradle mountain, and all that northern Tasmania has to offer. Unplug from the modern world and recharge in this cosy, rustic space set in spectacular beauty in a pristine part of Tasmania. The space The cabin was built in the early 80's out of local hardwood, and it sits above a private creek which you can hear running from all parts of the property. The cabin is beautiful, charming, and filled with unique touches. There is a large, open kitchen/lounge room, as well as a toilet and shower downstairs and a loft upstairs housing two bedrooms. There are two bunk beds in one bedroom and a queen bed in the other, separated by a set of lockable doors. There is also a day bed in the main lounge downstairs. In addition to the indoor shower, there’s an outside shower and bath located in a greenhouse attached to the main dwelling as well as a fire bath located in front of the cabin overlooking the stream. Water is fresh Tasmanian rain and mountain stream water gravity fed to the cabin. Heating and cooking are via the internal wood heater and kitchen which offers a gas stove/oven as well. There is unlimited super fast wifi provided by Starlink however no mobile phone service. Enable wifi calling before you arrive to stay in touch. The main experience to be encouraged is to embrace the momentary respite from communications and disconnect from the fast-paced modern world. There is no TV, however the front or back veranda makes a great substitute to keep you entertained. There is a healthy selection of board games and card games as well :) There are numerous walks nearby directing you up the Great Western Tiers where you can explore the Great Lakes, and there is a swimming hole and small waterfall on the property within easy access. Huntsman Lake is located within a 15min drive from the cabin, Deloraine 20min, Launceston and Devonport within an 1hr drive. Deloraine is a beautiful town set on the Meander river and is your closest location to gather supplies from the supermarket, pharmacy bottle-shop etc. Power is limited so please leave hair dryers, hair straighteners, and other power hungry appliances at home. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire cabin, creek and surrounding grounds. The shed and little hut overlooking the creek will be locked for private use. There may be a caretaker nearby contactable by phone to assist with maintaining the off grid power system, water requirements and any other queries or troubleshooting that may arise. You will have the entire space to yourself with privacy. Other things to note Please note: ELECTRIC VEHICLES CANNOT BE CHARGED AT THE PROPERTY.
