Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka bordering the Indian Ocean. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards, and aquatic birds. The number of mammals that have been recorded from the park is 44 and it has one of the highest leopard densities in the world Yala is one of the 70 Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in Sri Lanka. Of 215 bird species of the park, seven are endemic to Sri Lanka. They are Sri Lanka grey hornbill, Sri Lanka Junglefowl, Sri Lanka wood pigeon, Crimson-fronted Barbet, black-capped bulbul, blue-tailed bee-eater and brown-capped babbler The number of water birds inhabiting wetlands of Yala is 90 and half of them are migrant waterfowl, cormorants, large waterbirds, medium-sized waders Tringa spp., and small waders Charadrius spp. are among the most common water birds. You will arrive Heina Nature Resort & Yala Safari campsite in the evening. and check in to one of the chalets, followed by a short introduction by the manager on everything you need to know. You can have nature walk around Goyagala Lake, relax, and enjoy drinks and dinner under garden lanterns and camp fire amid a perfect village setting. Day 2: Morning and Evening game drives at Yala National Park Wake up around 5:00 a.m. and have a freshly brewed Ceylon tea or coffee. Leave the campsite at 05:30 a.m. Before the sun rises, you will enter Yala National Park block 1 for the Morning game drive. You can enjoy a picnic breakfast near the beach or near the gem river inside the park. Then, you will leave the park around 10:00 13:00-14:00 enjoy Lunch at the main outdoor restaurant in the campsite 14:30 you will be taken to do a memorable evening game drive at Yala National Park block 5. 19:00 Arrive at the Campsite and enjoy your private fresh shower followed by drinks and appetizers under the campfire, and dinner under garden lanterns, all adding to the delightful experience amid a perfect village setting.
