Double room, private bathroom, free breakfast
Double room, private bathroom, free breakfast
Description
This listing is for one bedroom and one bathroom - not the whole house :-) We, your hosts, live here. Bedroom has a quality double bed, bedside tables, spacious wardrobe, comfy chair, TV, mini fridge, kettle, and a table. In the bathroom, enjoy the extra deep bath, rainfall shower head and generous sink & vanity unit. Just 5 mins from Longleat, 30 mins from Bath & Salisbury, and 40 mins from Stonehenge. Excellent MTB & road cycling nearby. Cycle wash down and secure cycle storage here. The space Treetops is a post-modernist style eco-home. It’s a re-modelled 1960’s bungalow set in a quarter acre of garden. The interior offers open-plan living which is light and spacious. Our home is tastefully decorated with original art, oak floors and unique features. Your room is clean, warm and comfortable, and includes all linens and towels. You’ll find thoughtful extras like robes, slippers and toiletries available. The L-shaped house features an attached deck which includes a dining area where you may enjoy your meals, overlooking our wildlife pond. Treetops is on the edge of Longleat Forest, just a short walk or cycle away. Cyclists may use our secure bike storage, cycle rack and bicycle wash-down facilities. We also have a selection of basic maintenance equipment you are welcome to use, and can recommend local cycle mechanics should you be in need of one. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of their bedroom and bathroom. Your bedroom has a ‘smart TV’ - there is no aerial, so you will need to use your own personal entertainment streaming accounts. Treetops is open-plan, so you will also have access to the main living, kitchen and dining area, plus outside space which includes an outdoor dining area. A light self-serve breakfast of cereals and bread - often (not always!) homemade, and selection of complementary tea & coffee plus local milk (or oat milk) is included, available in the kitchen. You are welcome to store food in the fridge-freezer and pantry cupboard, and use the small microwave combi oven, toaster, cutlery & crockery for basic food preparation. *Please note: this does not mean full and unrestricted use of the kitchen - it is not a house share. Please contact us if you are unsure.* Use of the washer-dryer is by arrangement and for a small fee (detergent included in cost). It is sometimes possible to arrange a quick laundry service, useful if you are bike-packing or packing light. Cyclists may use our secure cycle store and wash down area for their bikes. We also have a heated drying rack. A ‘bike taxi’ service is sometimes available to pick you and your bike up from local routes, subject to availability. You are welcome to borrow our books, games and maps during your stay. During your stay When you visit Treetops, you come to stay with us in our home. We are a professional couple working in healthcare. We often work from home, so we may be around to assist you depending on our daily schedules. We will typically be more available in the evenings and at weekends. We will be contactable by email, text and phone. Other things to note Due to the nature of the interior decor, central log burner, the elevated deck and the deep pond, and the fact that we are a working couple, our home is not suitable for young children. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises. Vaping is tolerated in the garden only.
