From April 2026, a new dining space will be added, offering freshly prepared food and drinks on site. The owner carefully selects Japanese whiskies and natural wines, paired with simple, handmade seasonal dishes such as house-made anchovies, dried fruits, and winter-dried persimmons. From April 2026, food and drinks can be ordered à la carte, so you can enjoy as much or as little as you like. Evenings are meant to unfold naturally, around food and conversation. ⸻ Bedrooms — Comfort & Privacy for Groups • Four traditional tatami bedrooms (28 tatami / approx. 55㎡ total) Quiet rooms overlooking the garden. • Designed for group stays Even when traveling as two or three families, each bedroom has direct access to the restroom. • In summer, sliding doors, curtains, and screens allow fresh air to flow through the house. ⸻ Shared Living & Dining Space • A spacious earthen-floor and wooden hall built with Japanese cypress and natural stone (approx. 60㎡). • A 200-year-old solid cedar dining table seating up to eight people—perfect for shared meals. • In winter, an Italian-made pellet stove warms the space, creating a cozy atmosphere around a real flame. ⸻ Kitchen & Meals • A custom-made 360cm island counter crafted from a single slab of chestnut wood. • From April 2026, a separate staff kitchen will prepare à la carte dishes and bring them directly to the dining area. ⸻ Bathing Experience • A private wooden bath made from local Japanese cedar. Other things to note ⁂ BBQ in the vast garden At night, you can enjoy charcoal grilling while looking at the starry sky and listening to the sound of the waves. Our staff will help you from making the charcoal to cleaning up. ⁂ Noise (music) in the garden after 9 p.m. Please refrain from doing so, but normal conversation is fine. ⁂ Cats They come to the garden, but please do not feed them. ⁂ No shoes allowed except on the dirt floor. ⁂ Garbage Leaving garbage behind will attract wild animals, so please put it in the indoor trash can. ⁂ Smoking Please refrain from smoking in the old house. ⁂ Check-in/check-out Times are generally strictly adhered to, but if you have any special circumstances, please let us know in advance and we will accommodate you. ⁂ Staying with more than the number of people reserved We recommend 8 people, but if the number of people increases, please contact us at the last minute if you need to make a sudden change. ⁂ If you violate the prohibited items You will be required to pay a separate fine, so please comply with the rules.
