The space Historic 1895 Barn Loft • Organic Farm & Monarch Reserve Escape to a beautifully restored 1895 barn loft where history meets nature. Set within 28 hectares of pear orchards, forest trails, a river, and part of the Monarch Butterfly Reserve, guests call it a magical retreat of peace, fresh air, and unforgettable moments. The loft combines rustic charm with modern comfort: two bedrooms (one with panoramic views), a cozy nursery with two cribs, and a mezzanine TV lounge with a king futon (note: no railing). The bright dining and kitchen area opens fully onto the terrace, blending indoors with the outdoors. Cook with ease thanks to a large refrigerator, wine fridge, full dishware, and essentials. Seasons bring their own magic: pear blossoms in February, harvest in August and September, and from November to March, millions of Monarchs fill the skies — while the densest colonies are 45 minutes away, the property itself lies within the reserve. Just minutes from Tlalpujahua, a Pueblo Mágico known for artisan Christmas ornaments, this retreat is perfect for both short escapes and long stays. Disconnect from the city, walk private forest trails, savor organic produce, and reconnect with yourself in a truly unique mountain oasis. Guest access The loft is for the exclusive use of guests. While in common areas or on the ground floor of the barn (where the old granary is located) you may occasionally see the hosts or staff, the loft itself is set apart to ensure privacy. Guests have access to nearly all of the 28-hectare estate, except for the private area where the hosts live (including a small vineyard under development and the reservoir). Entry there requires prior authorization. You are free to explore the orchards, forest trails, and river. Visit the chicken and sheep areas with the assistance of the caretaker. Parking is available inside the property. Guests may enjoy the estate at their own pace or, if they prefer, with guidance from the caretaker. Other things to note • Access is via a maintained dirt road; small cars can enter. • We recommend checking in before dark, as the road is very dark at night. • Nights and mornings are chilly: bring warm clothes, thick socks, or slippers for indoors (please avoid wearing outdoor shoes inside to keep the loft clean). • Comfortable shoes are recommended; rain boots are useful in the rainy season. • On windy or rainy days, cell service and internet may be unstable. • The river is for walking, observing, and playing — not for swimming. • Please do not leave trash in the forest or outdoor areas. • Seasonal farm products are available for purchase: jams, pear distillate, fresh eggs, and more. • Guided bonfire service is available in designated safe areas for an extra cost. • Pets are not allowed. • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the loft. • Extra guests beyond the reservation are not permitted without prior notice. • Bonfires are only allowed in authorized areas due to fire risk.
