Vacation in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park – cozy family apartment (75 m²) in the Alpin Park Matrei - worth a trip at any time of the year. The space Located directly in the center of Matrei, our barrier-free ground floor apartment with two bedrooms (double bed + bunk bed with up to three beds), two shower rooms, cozy dining area, fully equipped kitchen, fireplace and terrace is the ideal starting point for many discovery trips. Whether in summer or winter – the region offers unlimited leisure opportunities for all ages with its mountains and valleys as well as the only free running glacier stream in Austria, the Isel. In a few steps you can reach Rauterplatz with butchery, bakery, ice cream shop, pizzeria, banks, various hotel restaurants, textile and stationery shop for all needs of daily life. In the winter season, the ski bus runs every 15 minutes, reaching the central valley station Goldried in 10 minutes. From there, with a short waiting time and a 6-seater gondola, you can go directly to the approx. 50 km-wide family ski area of the Grossglockner Resort. The rivers located in the village (Felbertauernbach, Isel, Bretterwandbach) offer a beautiful backdrop for relaxing walks in every season. In summer and autumn, more than 60 peaks with over 3000 m of the Venediger and Grossglockner group invite all climbing and hiking enthusiasts to summit experiences. Various high-altitude hiking trails complement the offer for families and recreational athletes. Mountain bikers will also get their money's worth on the numerous developed trails in the nearby valleys of Virgen, Puster and Defereggen. Via the Staller Sattel, Italy is not far away with the biathlon mecca Rasen-Antholz. Particularly worthwhile are day trips to Bruneck, Bolzano and Merano and even Venice is easily doable. The amenities of our apartment include the free use of an underground parking space as well as the use of the heated ski room/bicycle cellar incl. Ski boot dryer. At the beginning of the summer season, the heated outdoor pool is available to our guests from June to August. Our on-site contact person, Hotel Rauter, offers bookable wellness offers (sauna area) as well as an upscale restoration. If you are looking for traditional Austrian cuisine or great portions, you will find the Gosser farm (Zettlach) or the Pizzeria Kuckuck (30m away). The apartment is suitable for visiting up to 4 adults or a family with 3 children. Key handover as well as a short introduction to the apartment, deposit (€250) and tourist tax processing (€2.60/day) is done by the Hotel Rauter, 30m from the chalet apartment. This also offers canyoning tours for those interested. - The climbing park at Hochstein/Lienz - A panoramic drive by car on the Gross Glockner High Alpine Road, from Lienz to Zell am See In winter... of course, skiing in the lift network of the Gross Glockner Resort with the areas of St. Jakob im Defereggental, Silian im Hochpustertal and the Mölltal Glacier. Inevitably, an Aperol or mulled wine in the Adler Lounge at 2,421 meters above sea level in the middle or at the end of a successful day of skiing.
