Studio Apartment

Enjoy a relaxing stay at this modern stylish studio. This property is located in an attractive peaceful suburb, just over 2km from Cork City Centre. There is about 30km of fantastic greenways for exploring on the doorstep. A stones throw from Páirc Uí Chaoimh with plenty of shops, pubs and cafes within a few minutes walk. Local attractions include the Marina Market, Live at the Marquee, the Atlantic Pond and Marina, Blackrock village and Blackrock Castle. The space This is a self contained modern studio. It has a new king size bed. Bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchen area is fully equipped. There are two workspace areas . The bathroom contains a raised walk-in rain shower. Guest access Access to all areas of the studio. Guests will have their own door and keys. The studio is completely separate from the main family home. Off street parking is available, directly beside the studio if required. Other things to note The studio is very near to a large stadium called Pairc Ui Chaoimh where Gaelic football and hurling matches are played. Sometimes the road gets closed for the matches and car access is only available to residents. Please show your Airbnb booking with the address and you should have no problem getting down the road with your car. Minimum stay is 2 nights. ------------------------------------------------ GENERAL INFORMATION PARKING If you have a car please let us know in advance. You can park on the studio side of the driveway and we will use the other spot. We may need to access the electric car charger which is outside on the wall of the studio. Feel free to use this if you need too. There is no need to press any buttons on the charger. Please explore and enjoy :o) -------------------------------------- LAUNDRY • Circle K - Garage on Blackrock Road with laundry facilities Address: Circle K, Blackrock Rd, Ballintemple, Blackrock, Co. Cork, T12 X2N8 -------------------------------------- BLACKROCK & BALLINTEMPLE AREA This is a lovely area with many pedestrian only walks, runs and cycle paths. There is a loop of about 10 km out to Blackrock Castle and back which we would highly recommend walking at your leisure. There are also shorter walks around the Marina Park, Páirc Uí Chaoimh and along the River Lee which are very pleasant. -------------------------------------- PLACES TO VISIT LOCALLY AND IN THE CITY • Cork Harbour Boat Cruise - Highly recommend this early on in your stay as you get to see a lot of the Cork area and you can go back then and visit the places you liked. Book ahead as it can be busy in high season! • Blackrock Castle - Observatory and café on site • Blackrock Greenway - Over 30km of walkways and cyclepaths on our doorstep • Cork Jail - Historic attraction • Shandon Bells - Great views over Cork and you get to play some tunes • Fitzgerald's Park A BIT FURTHER AWAY (Might need a car for some of these but there are buses for many) • Spike Island • Cobh • Middleton • Kinsale • Crosshaven • Blarney Castle and Gardens • Fota Wildlife Park • Ballycotton Cliff Walk • Currabinny Woods BEACHES • Myrtleville • Fountainstown • Inchydoney • Rocky Bay • Robertscove • 3 Castle Head • Youghal •Nohoval Cove ____________________________ SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS • Ballintemple Stores - Local convenience store in Ballintemple Village stocks all basic requirements, milk, fresh bread, cakes and treats etc. It is also an off-license. Turn left out of the house and take a right onto the Blackrock Road. The shop is about 3-4 mins walk on the right. • Tesco - The nearest Tesco by car is in Mahon Point, about a 10 minute drive. If you are using public transport then the nearest one will be in the city centre. • Aldi - About 20 minutes walk from the house on Skehard Road. Best/nicest way to walk is via the Blackrock Greenway. • Pharmacy - Next to Ballintemple Stores • Post Office – 2mins walk - Just at the top of Park Avenue as you turn onto Blackrock Road ---------------------------------- CAFÉS & DELI • Basil - Gorgeous little deli, great coffee, sandwiches, soups and takeaway dinners. Closed on Monday. About 3 mins walk from the airbnb on your way to Ballintemple before you get to The Venue Pub. ------------------------------------ COFFEE SHOPS We are absolutely spoiled for choice! Less than 5 mins walk: • Basil (as above) • Cortado on the Marina • The Kiosk in the red structure in Marina Park, by Pairc Uí Chaoimh Within 10-15 mins walk: • The Natural Food Bakery (Blackrock Village) • Pronto (Blackrock Village) • Cameron Bakery (Blackrock Village) • Marina Market • Blackrock Castle Café --------------------------------------------- PUBS • The Venue Pub - In Ballintemple Village, lovely pub • Longboats - In Ballintemple Village, lovely pub • The Leaping Salmon - About 15min walk along Blackrock Road towards Blackrock Village. Does great pizza. • The Pier Head - About 15min walk along Blackrock Road towards Blackrock Village. Has lovely tapas etc. --------------------------------------------- RESTAURANTS • Blackrock Castle Café - Well worth a visit. Lovely for lunch and dinner. Nice place to bring kids. Also an observatory there if you are interested in the moon and the stars. • Marina Market - Fab for lunch and a walk around. About 15mins walk from the house.
