Nearby Hope Valley provides delightful walks and panoramic views, with the villages of Edale and Castleton (with its Blue John mines) all within 10 miles. The space Chinley provides regular train service to Sheffield, and to Manchester for those wishing to mix the country idyll with city life. Other places worth visiting include Bakewell and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, (within 20 miles) and the National Trust’s Lyme Park (7 miles).
