Cozy Space for Young Professionals Near Metro

Come and stay in a classic Columbia Heights townhome's basement studio! Our home is conveniently located near both the U St. and Columbia Heights Metro Stations and has a bus stop right outside our front door that will take you straight downtown. Columbia Heights has a lot to offer, from bars and restaurants to a convenient shopping center. This is the perfect spot for young professionals that need to commute to the office but also want to experience what the District has to offer. The space While the listing states there are shared spaces, you have your own private space in our home. Our basement studio is street level and has its own private entrance. The space has an open floor plan, with a private bathroom. It includes a queen sized bed and a sleeper sofa, so you can comfortably fit three guests in our cozy basement. The living area includes the sleeper sofa and a high top dining table and chairs. We have high speed internet, so the table can be used as a workspace. In addition to the bed, the bedroom includes a TV and a dresser. Because we do not have a closet, there is a garment rack with hangers if you would like to hang any articles of clothing. The bathroom includes a semi-open shower and basic shower necessities--shampoo, conditioner, soap. The toilet has a hose bidet attached to it. While the space doesn't have a kitchen, there is a counter between the living space and the bedroom that includes a microwave, coffee maker, and a wine fridge that can hold additional food items that can be refrigerated at 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The are also cupboards which hold additional blankets, towels, and cups/plates/utensils. Guest access You will only have access to the basement studio--the door to the rest of the home will be locked for your privacy. The doors to the storage and HVAC closets in the basement are also locked for your convenience. We do have free street parking available for guests with a car. To secure a guest parking pass, you will need to share your vehicle information prior to arrival so I can print you a unique guest pass for your stay. During your stay I live in the home, so I will be available to assist you when need be! You should feel free to message me on the Airbnb app if you need anything, have any questions about the space, or want tips on places to check out in the area. Other things to note Our Airbnb space is a basement unit and we do live in the rest of the house above the unit, so you will likely hear footsteps. So this may not be the spot for you if you are a light sleeper! I also do have a pet cat, but she is not allowed in the private Airbnb space—she stays in our part of the house. But you may hear her meow or scamper about! Our home is less than a 15 minute walk from both the U St. and Columbia Heights Metro Stations. We also have a bus stop right in front of our home, which is the most convenient way to travel Downtown. There are other bus stops just a couple of blocks away that will take you most places that the Metro wouldn't be able to take you. You will need a MetroCard to take the bus or Metro and you can purchase cards at the kiosks in the Metro stations. If you need groceries, we are a short walk away from Whole Foods, Streets Market, Lidl, and Giant. And while our home is in Columbia Heights, we are a short distance away from the Shaw and Adams Morgan neighborhoods and the U Street Corridor, all of which have thriving night live scenes.
