The village of Cranham (2.5 miles) is at the bottom of the valley and has a dog-friendly pub, and for a real leg stretch try a circular walk to Sheepscombe (10 miles there and back). The Cotswold Way (4.5 miles) is also accessible, where you can enjoy the views from Painswick Beacon (3.5 miles) or have a dog-friendly pub lunch in the village. Crickley Hill Country Park (3.5 miles) offers beech wood trails and wonderful views of the Gloucestershire countryside. Explore Cheltenham (7.5 miles) famed for the Gold Cup and Literature Festival, and enjoy tasting and sampling local wares at the Stroud Saturday food market (9 miles) where dogs on leads are welcome too.
