Your low-tech getaway awaits in the heart of the coveted Virginia Piedmont horse & wine country! Nestled in the woods at the end of a half mile private drive you will find quiet & solitude. Your tranquil sanctuary includes a charming lower level apartment and patio. Located in the midst of expansive horse farms, quaint towns, idyllic scenery, mountains and wineries. Only 40 min to Shenandoah Nat’l Park & 20 min to Sky Meadows State Park. The space Your private retreat consists of a separate apartment located in the lower level of the main residence. You will see Big Cobbler Mountain (see last pics) as you exit the property. The home is half rustic log and stone hunting lodge with a 3 story contemporary addition which is where the Airbnb is located. Guests have their own private entrance that leads out to a garden patio shaded by a large redbud “forest pansy” tree. This bright, airy and cozy apartment features a charming decor with large windows looking out into gardens and the woods beyond. Living room features a delightful working electric fireplace. Small wall mounted TV includes upgraded extensive menu channels on Dish TV. WiFi password will be provided. This is a rural area so there is only satellite internet which is fine for basic needs. It can be intermittent but overall works fine. The fully equipped kitchenette has a Keurig coffee maker and some breakfast treats, water & snacks provided. While there is NO STOVE/OVEN in the kitchen, there is a an electric kettle and microwave for use. Large, spacious private master bath directly across from the separate primary bedroom with queen bed. Please note there are two steps to enter the bathroom (see pic). The Airbnb is located in an bucolic pastoral park-like setting. As you stroll the seven wooded acres notice the interesting rolling terrain that gently slopes down to a ravine creek then rises up again on the other side. There is seating beside two mini waterfalls. Well behaved pets are welcome! Limit one pet $15 pet fee. Pets are NOT allowed on the furniture including sofa and the bed. Please be aware there are cats on the premises. If allergic you will need to find other accommodations. However, they are NEVER allowed inside the apartment. Be reassured there is never a cleaning fee… Guest access Very private with separate entrance and patio. Lighted walkway, close proximity to parking and no steps to worry about. Other things to note It’s easy getting around. The Airbnb is located only 6 miles south of I-66 down Rt 647 (Crest Hill Rd) exit. Take the interstate to Washington DC only 35 miles east. Closer by are the charming towns of Middleburg to the north, Warrenton is only 10 miles and the town of Marshall is 6 miles. The quaint village of Orlean is only 3 miles away. We are in the center of Virginia hunt country home of Old Dominion Hounds. Several good restaurants and WINERIES are in close proximity. Also nearby only 30 min away to the west of us is the town of Front Royal, Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. Hike the trails or kayak down the Shenandoah River. Sky Meadow State Park in Delaplane with 1,800 acres is a quick 20 min drive. Dulles Int’l Airport is 45 min drive.
