Description
The Wooster family farmhouse was built at the head of Crockett Cove in 1843. The guest house/barn is the residence available for rental. It was built in 1964. It faces south with a lovely water view and summer breeze. One can hear the reversing falls at all times except high tide when you can slip over the falls and kayak in the completely conserved natural area, with the largest salt marsh on the island. There are Ospreys, Eagles, Herons, Eiders, Guillemots, Kingfishers in the area. The space The property consists of 80 conserved acres at the head of Crockett Cove on the northern end of Vinalhaven. The forest is carefully managed for the benefit of wildlife. The guest house has a large open living space, a fully equipped large kitchen, a master bedroom with a queen size bed on the first floor, a bathroom with an bathtub/shower, and twin beds in the loft bedroom. The residence is fully furnished with antique family furniture, original artwork, a fine art library, publications on island history and a record collection. There is everyday china and fine china and silver which can be used with extreme care. The owner has a very friendly dog and very shy cat. Guest pets must be preapproved by the owner, well cared for, friendly, and not aggressive toward owners pets. Any furnishings pets have access to must be protected from harm. Guest access All areas around the guest house, the woods and shorefront are available for your use. Guests kayaks can be left on the shore for easy access to the cove.
