The Danish engineer Dr. Holger Jensen Kok, acquired Fazenda da Guarda in 1923, where an important sawmill operated until 1941, when the farm was donated to the foundation of the Campos do Jordão-Horto Florestal State Park. At the request of Dr. Kok, a part was separated to the family with the name of Fazenda Gravatá. Seeking a balance between the new and the old, construction made with rustic materials and charming architecture, but without losing the traditional simplicity of the “Brazilian House.”
