Description
One of the best views on the Mountain in this spacious cabin! Twin Oaks, built in 1921, has been very nicely remodeled. The original flooring that came from wood milled locally is kept in most of the cabin. Enjoy comfort, coziness and the beauty of the Mountain! This cabin can sleep 4 people: the master bedroom has a Cal king bed, and the sunroom has 2 twin beds... You can sleep an additional 2 in the loft queen bed. But this is only accessible for an additional fee ($25/night) beauty The space This very private cabin with some of the most amazing views in the mountain could sleep a total of 6 persons: - 4 people on the main floor: the master bedroom has a Cal king bed, and the sunroom has 2 twin beds... - an additional 2 in the loft, which has a queen bed is only available for an additional fee ($25/night). The kitchen is fully equipped, and there are 1.5 bathrooms (incl. combo washer/dryer). There is an amazing wood stove but if you don't feel like trying it, there is AC and heater at the push of a button... And there is THE deck with THE views... Other things to note While we are in San Diego County, well known for its very stable climate during the year, we have 4 seasons on the mountain. Be prepared for - some snow in winter (see access and parking information in the proper section), - a magnificent Spring, when you can expect to be above the clouds (no May grey and June gloom for us!) - a hot summer in the 90s with fly season from June to early July (the cabin has AC and we provide natural bug repellents) - a beautiful Fall, with a mixture of golden foliages with our evergreens... You should plan on visiting 4 times a year, to experience it all ;) In winter, when snow is present, remember that chains are required to access Palomar Mountain. They are frequent sheriff/CHP check at the bottom of the mountain to prevent unprepared vehicle access to the mountain. It is important to know that access to the cabin itself is through a dirt road. It is not recommended if you have a low clearance vehicle. Ideally you need an AWD/4WD vehicle. If it is snow season we will have a spot for you on the main road to park and walk to the cabin. It is about 1/8 of a mile so not recommended for everyone.
