The picturesque townscape of Born is characterized by the predominantly thatched houses. The former fishing village is the ideal starting point for extensive bike tours through the "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft." The primeval forest-like Darßwald, the core of the national park, is in the immediate vicinity. A bike or hiking tour through the Darßwald leads to the uniquely idyllic Darßer Weststrand.
