Bluebell Bothy Enchanted Woodland Cabin

Pretty cabin, recently refurbished, set in tranquil woodland setting. Central location for many local events around the area. Secluded, but not off the beaten track. Ample parking with woodland pathway leading to Bothy, approx 2 min walk from car. Additional camping can be included in your booking should you wish to bring further friends/family that enjoy sleeping under the stars! Do enquire. 😊 Opportunity to relax in a peaceful setting surrounded by birdsong and babbling brooks. The space The cabin provides a superb ‘back to nature’ retreat, but has the benefit of mod cons! Surrounded by woodland and slightly off the beaten track. (Please note - unmade woodland path and no street lighting!) Open plan ‘studio’ with kitchen and dining area - including two ring hob, air fryer, microwave, toaster kettle and coffee machine. Dining table seats two and is open to the lounge: The lounge area has a comfy sofa with throws and sheepskin, as well as an armchair, all set around the wood burner. (Logs are supplied for the first night, winter months only.) The bedroom has a standard double bed with ‘Duck and Down’ duvet and pillows. En-suite with a powerful shower, and heated towel rail. Outside you can enjoy an area of woodland, fully fenced, should you wish to bring your four legged friend. In addition, 6 acres of woodland can be enjoyed should you wish to bring additional guests, with prior arrangement. Barbecues can be enjoyed; we are happy to provide disposable foil bbq’s should you wish, for a small fee. (The wooden table can be used with a baking tray to place foil bbq’s on.) We don’t, unfortunately, offer the use of a free standing bbq due to health and safety, as with bonfires, due to the risk of fires within the woods, as well as neighbouring properties. If, however, an arrangement has been made for a small ‘camping’ gathering in the woods, we can discuss options. Guest access Access to the cabin is an unmade path and can be slippery during winter or wet months. Sensible footwear is essential. There is a wooded area in front of the cabin, completely fenced, and allows you the use of some land for your furry friend. The main woodland can be used, but we ask that you request to use it, particularly for groups. Other things to note The woodland is a natural habitat with wildlife in abundance. Naturally there are some trip hazards in the form of fallen branches, brambles, etc; care needs to be taken whilst walking the path that leads to the bridge and then onto the Bothy. It can become particularly slippery during wet weather so please ensure you have suitable footwear and tread cautiously. The path is kept clear, but is unmade (in most places) please note that the access isn’t suitable for everyone! If you have requested to bring your dog, and it is on the confirmed booking, please keep them on lead until you reach the enclosed area around the cabin. In addition, during Spring, the wild flowers are in abundance, so please tread carefully and have respect for the woodland. The wild garlic is prolific from the end of March through April, and is edible. Please note, however, that the aroma is noticeable for a couple of weeks during this period. The main woodland is not part of the accessible area, please be aware that it is our private land. If you wish to utilise the woods, please request to do so first. Our home can be seen from the Bothy, but is fenced off and not part of the land surrounding the Bothy. We are on hand if needed, but allow complete privacy for you to enjoy your stay. We do, however, still have to mow our lawn, maintain our land etc, and can be heard on occasion with our own guests/family. We also have a dog, but our garden is secure from the Bothy so he cannot access into the woods unless accompanied by us.
