Welcome to the Sources de l'Escaut cottage. This expansive bourgeois home combines old-world charm with modern comforts. It is ideal for moments with family or friends. Wide terrace (30m2) and 1400m2 park. Games room (ping pong, foosball). Trampoline, pétanque, basketball basket. Banquets for up to 45 people. 10 km from Saint-Quentin (A26/A29) 1 hour from Lille, 2 hours from Paris and Brussels by car. Stations: Saint-Quentin (TER for Paris: 1h15) and TGV Haute Picardie 30 minutes away The space All the rooms are equipped with period furniture, which match the old side of the house: cement tiles, old parquet floors (restored), moldings... The house has 7 spacious rooms: 2 bedrooms each with a 160x200 bed and a single bed (90x190) 1 bedroom with 1 x 160 x 200 bed 1 bedroom with a 140x190 bed 2 other bedrooms each with 2 single beds (90x190) 1 bedroom with a single 90x190 single bed, which can also be used as a baby room The rooms are not air-conditioned but not being located under the roofs (the house has an unfinished 2nd floor), they remain relatively cool in summer. The living room is equipped with a TV (Orange TV package), a DVD player, a quality sound system (Bose), and various board games. A fireplace with insert is available (wood provided). A wide leather sofa and different armchairs and seating will allow you to share a friendly moment. The kitchen is fully equipped: 5 hobs, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer (a 2nd fridge is available), dishwasher, kettle, Nespresso machine, toaster, blender, 2 raclette machines and fondue set. The laundry room also has a washing machine, dryer, and iron/ironing table. A large table will allow you to share a meal for 14/15 people. The continuity of the dining room and living room (in the immediate vicinity of the kitchen) allows the organization of banquet-type meals, up to 45 people. In this case we can set up a table 11 meters long for your arrival. Specific rate for renting as part of a reception / banquet: please ask me. Wired high speed internet and wifi. We also provide essentials for a toddler (2 high chairs, umbrella bed with mattress). Outside: A large games room of 40m2 is located in an annex building, 20 meters from the house. It has a ping pong table, a "café" foosball table. This unheated room has a fireplace that can be used under supervision. Other games are also available outside: trampoline (from March to November), petanque games (private field adjacent to the house and in small gravel), basketball hoop on a concrete field, molky, small goals and soccer ball, some bicycles for all ages, and with child seats (on request). A large wooden terrace (30m2) facing south (towards the fields) as well as a large table will allow you to enjoy the outside and have a meal (large electric blind of 20m2). Large gas barbecue (with griddle) as well as a charcoal barbecue in addition if necessary. Sun loungers are available as well. This terrace gives access to a 190 m2 garden shaded by an old weeping willow, with a trampoline. This garden adjoining the house is "almost" fenced: a small passage one meter wide overlooks the private courtyard of the house, no street in the immediate vicinity. It can be secured (closed) for a child by using an element provided (ask me). For a dog, consider that this garden is not "completely" fenced. A second garden of 1100m2 is located a few meters from the house, on the other side of the pathway (which only serves the house). It is shaded by large trees (lime, ash and maple) and several fruit trees. The house is located in a cul-de-sac, and different walking paths are accessible immediately (including a path to St Jacques). The sources of the Scheldt are about 2 miles away. Many walking or cycling tours in the immediate vicinity (no need for a car). Maps are available (from 1 km to 20 km) The house has 2 independent garages. One of them is attached to the house (the entrance to the house is directly from the garage). A 2nd garage is available. Several other vehicles can be parked outdoors in the courtyard, right in front of the main entrance of the house. Recommendations for surrounding, cultural or "nature" activities. Flyers are available, and I can give you additional information: Henri Matisse Museum, Familistère Godin, Parc d'Isle and free zoo in St Quentin, Vaucelles Abbey as well as its craft brewery, new wine cellar (production of a sparkling Champagne type) only 3 km from the farm by a hiking/bike path, visit of the cellar possible by reservation.
