This characterful cottage, in an elevated location within the scenic countryside of the Llanover Estate, is perfect for families or friends looking for a relaxing holiday in a rugged landscape. An ideal base for walkers with access to the Beacons Way from the front door, where you can climb higher to enjoy views across the surrounding hillsides and Black Mountains. The space As part of the Llanover Estate, guests can enjoy visiting the private Llanover Garden and experiencing the ponds, streams, and unusual plants. A delightful cottage with south-facing views down the valley or towards the Skirrid offers a unique stay full of old-world charm and everyday comforts. This 17th-century cottage adjoins the original barn and retains the original oak beams and flagstones. The barn is the main entrance to the cottage and leads into the sunny kitchen where you have everything you need to rustle up tasty treats. From the kitchen, a couple of steps lead into the dining room, with a wood burner and a circular table so you can catch up over supper. From here, access the cosy living room with original oak panelling, an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner and a Smart TV. There is a small snug offering a quiet space to read. Climb the stone staircase that winds up the side of a fireplace with a former bread oven. The first floor has one king-size and two 2ft6" twin bedrooms, enjoying views across the countryside. A family bathroom completes this floor. Outside, guests can enjoy a sunny south-facing balcony with lovely views, a table with benches and a BBQ. There are plenty of attractions for all ages in the local area. Head to the Blaenavon (6 miles), where you can explore The Big Pit National Coal Museum, the castle, and the heritage railway. To the west lies the quaint market town of Crickhowell (8 miles), where you can go walking, hiking, cycling, or mountain biking. Alternatively, history buffs will love a day discovering Raglan Castle (11 miles).
