Hidden Jungle Beach House is a wanderer’s oasis, just a two minute walk to the beach and a five minute walk to downtown Puerto Viejo, yet we are nestled in the jungle surrounded by nature. Our authentic Caribbean style home has comfortable private bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, clean shared bathrooms with hot showers, and plenty of outdoor patio and balcony space to relax. We have high speed fiber optic WiFi, perfect for video calls, streaming movies, or working from home. Located on a mini-permaculture farm, we have chickens running around, a garden full of medicinal and edible plants, and a beautiful collection of tropical flowers. In our breezy, open-air home you can expect the same level of interaction with nature as you would at a cabin in the woods. This is an authentic jungle living experience and it cannot be guaranteed that bugs will not enter the house or the room. Each bedroom has a fan, mosquito net and screened windows for your comfort. Let us be your home away from home in the Costa Rican rainforest! Guest access In our house you'll have access to quiet, comfortable places to immerse yourself in nature. We have sofas, chairs, hammocks, an upstairs porch, a downstairs patio, a living room, and table and chairs in the garden. Our spacious shared kitchen is well-equipped for cooking. We have fiber optic internet with 200 mbps, excellent for streaming videos or working from home. There are also fresh eggs for sale from our free range chickens! There are two shared bathrooms, hot shower, and towels provided. *sorry, no pets or children* During your stay I'm Amy and I live here on the property with my cat Gingi and my dogs Zenith, Guapo, and Coffee. We are all friendly and I'm always around to answer questions or help out! Other things to note DOGS AND A CAT LIVE ON THE PROPERTY. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE DOGS OR CATS, OUR HOME MAY NOT BE THE BEST CHOICE FOR YOUR VISIT. There are also chickens and guinea fowl roaming free on the property. Our pets are friendly and love attention. The dogs live in the owner’s house, if they are outside they will probably greet you as you come and go. The cat lives mostly in the guesthouse (your house). We also keep chickens and guinea fowl. They roam free during the day and you will see them as you come and go from the property. It definitely helps to be an animal lover if you’re staying here! IF YOU HAVE A CAR: Street parking is easy on our block, there are always spaces available. ROOMS: Our rooms are small but comfortable. NOISE: We are in the jungle yet 1 minute from the beach and only 5 minutes from the town of Puerto Viejo. You'll always hear the waves. Now and then, especially on weekends and holidays you'll hear the sounds of the village coming through the jungle - music from the bars and some traffic on the road. COUPLES: Our place is small and our rooms are close together. You will have complete visual/physical privacy but you may not have the audio privacy that some couples prefer. Noise at the level of quiet normal conversation is not heard by others in the next room but our walls are not soundproof. INFRASTRUCTURE: Puerto Viejo does not have the infrastructure that someone coming from a first world country would be accustomed to. Water pressure in particular can be inconsistent There are NO LAUNDRY FACILITIES available here, however there are areas to hand wash your laundry and lines to hang wet clothes. There is laundry service available nearby.
