Welcome to the incredible ‘Lion’s Den’. This newly renovated Victorian home features mid-century furnishings, a spacious en-suite bedroom, a high-end kitchen, stylish lounge, views of both Lion's Head and Table Mountain, and an 11m saltwater lap pool—all just minutes from the mountain, beach and city centre. The space The airy and spacious lounge opens onto the patio and garden through large sliding glass doors that disappear into the wall, creating a seamless flow between indoors and outdoors. The open-plan kitchen is a pleasure to cook in with an island, a substantial window facing Table Mountain, and a range of high-end cooking tools, including a large Smeg gas stove, InstantPot, KitchenAid mixer, NutriBullet, and dishwasher. Gaze up at Lion's Head after your morning swim, while catching up on work on the shaded patio, or enjoying sundowners by the pool that’s partially heated by circulating water through solar roof pipes. The peaceful and private back garden also has a gas weber and charcoal braai. The colourful bedroom has a comfy queen-sized bed with Egyptian cotton linen, a large retro desk, South African artwork, and an Nguni cow rug. French doors open onto the veranda and sitting area. The room has ample storage in built-in cupboards and USB and international plug points. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, a bathtub that comfortably fits two, a handheld bidet, and warm lighting. In winter, watch Netflix or other media (via AirPlay, USB or HDMI) on the ultra-HD television with surround sound and warm yourself with the Franco Belge wood burning stove. The beds have electric blankets to ensure you don’t feel cold at night. The house has uncapped, high-speed 500mbps fibre internet & a UPS to ensure internet access during load-shedding (which hasn't happened since March 2024; the house rarely lost power as scheduled anyhow). If the power were to go off, there are rechargeable lights on hand. The property is secured with electric fencing, security shutters, shatterproof windows, and an alarm system. The Lion's Den is on a busy road but features double-glazed windows that dramatically reduce street noise. The back garden is very quiet. Guest access I can often accommodate early check-ins and late checkouts but please offer to pay something extra if you want to arrive early or check out late. The beautiful 'lion's den' office can be utilised for an additional r700/day. Other things to note The 'Lions Den' is for cat lovers. Thabi Wena is a very sweet two-year-old cat who will need to be fed and cuddled during your stay. She's very friendly and affectionate, demands a great deal of attention, and charms everyone who's met her. If you're someone who's allergic or doesn't actively like cats, the Lion's Den probably isn't right for you. Thabi Wena can go outside when you're at the house, then gets locked in at night and whenever you leave. My housekeeper will clean her box each week; if you stay for a full week, would need you to scoop her box one other time during the week (she mostly goes outside otherwise). ---------- My housekeeper cleans the house on Tuesdays. It may be possible to shift the day she comes if you have a short booking and would prefer more privacy. If you book for more than a week, an additional r600 cleaning fee will be charged for each week of your stay to ensure the house is clean, linens are changed, and the garden maintained for your enjoyment.
