Snorscomb Mill This 1834 ironstone mill, has been beautifully converted for modern living. Located in a bucolic valley in the gently folding Northamptonshire hills. The house is peacefully surrounded by sheep grazing land. It is a 10-minute walk to the picturesque village of Everdon and its large 14th century parish church and the Plough Inn. Our property is situated on a gated no-through road, and is accessed via a 5-bar gate, and has ample parking for 7-8 well parked cars in the courtyard. It is perfect for getaways, reunions and get togethers or just relaxing times for friends and families of all ages to meet up. We will also host well-behaved hen weekends. Very cosy in winter with underfloor heating in most of the many ground floor reception rooms. The beautiful, locally-crafted kitchen, with lots of space to cook and chat, is equipped with a NEFF cooker, microwave and induction hob, a Miele dishwasher, a large American style SMEG fridge/freezer and a Nespresso coffee machine. surfaces are made of a stunning pale grey granite. There are lots of places in the house to relax and get away but lots of space for kids to run around. Our home sleeps 14. 7 bedrooms (3 king-size, 2 double and 2 twin bedded rooms (1 convertible to double on request at the time of booking). 4 bedrooms are ensuite with shower or bath. Our Garden This one and a half acre woodland garden is laid mainly to grass and is great for kids to run around. It has a mill pond, stream and several bridges. There is even a waterfall when it is very wet. There are also lots of places to hang out and chill in warmer weather. Our Village and area It is a 10-minute walk to the pretty village of Everdon, with its new community, child friendly pub, The Plough Inn. Serving lunches daily and excellent evening meals on weekends. Booking in advance is highly recommended. There are walks from the house to Everdon Stubbs woods (famous for its Bluebells in May) and to the Kings Arms in Farthingstone (lunches only). For more serious walkers the Nene Way runs through the village and locally is the Knightley Way which runs through Fawsley Estate another lovely area to visit. There are lots of pretty villages nearby, Badby, Newnham, Stowe Nine Churches and Upper Stowe. Provisions are available in Daventry 15 minutes away, which has a Waitrose, Tesco and Aldi supermarkets. There are also two late night convenience stores in Weedon 10 minutes away. For those interested in gardens or historic buildings, there are locally, Canons Ashby, Stowe, Ashby Manor (home of the Gun Powder Plot) and Sulgrave Manor (the ancestral home of George Washington). Locally there are lots of fun activities including, canal boat hire at Dodford Moor and motor racing, go-karting and a museum at Silverstone Circuit. There is punting in Oxford, and in Milton Keynes there is Go Ape high ropes course, Snozone indoor ski slope and iFly indoor sky diving. There is the Spa retreat at Fawsley Hall and shopping at Bicester Village outlet stores. For something unusual, try tank driving at Tanks-Alot in Helmdon or the historically important Bletchley Park, the WW2 site where the Enigma and Lorenz codes were broken. There are also days out in the beautiful historic towns of Oxford, Stratford on Avon, Leamington Spa and Warwick all within easy reach.
