The space Our property is the front-row seat of a landscape designated by the Secretary of the Interior to be a National Natural Landmark. Sure, every phone click is a postcard, but the big picture is the way the property changes with the seasons. We witness the arrival of goldfinch, orange orioles and red-bellied woodpeckers in Spring. We see the wall of mountains that dominates our view green in Summer then turn to reds and golden hues in the Fall and... In Winter, nature’s icy breath transforms its 3-mile lake into a surreal masterpiece before our eyes, and our acres of sugar white deep powder stay pristine for weeks after city snows have turned slushy and gray. Built from the ground up by your host—a tech savvy Grandma. She spared no expense creating this solar colonial masterpiece. It’s a comfy smart home with fast Wi-Fi, smart TVs, built-in USB adapters, indoor & outdoor fireplaces, heated floors upstairs & down, & a state-of-the-art kitchen. Some guests nest, enjoying the view by day and curling up by the fireplace at night. Others make it home base for adventure: walks, biking, hiking, swimming, wildlife, our 5 state parks, fall farm stands, pumpkin patches, apple-picking, then dinner & jazz dates in charming river towns. But what lingers in memory is the downshift from one’s busy life: the feeling of being high above Rockland Lake, feeding deer, watching clouds form at eye level, and seeing simple weather & changing light turn the mountain-and-lake view into living theater. Simply put it's a comfy marvel of technology with a stellar view. Guest access In addition to your 3-room suite on the 2nd floor you can use the entire 1st floor of our million dollar property. That includes our state-of-the-art kitchen, dining room, dinette, living room, family room, 40-foot front porch and our show-stopping 40-foot lake-view deck with grill, fire table and generous outdoor seating. During your stay I ALWAYS greet my guests just after arrival then retire to my own entirely separate residence. After that, I only visit the guest area, for example, if one wants to hear about the history of the area or learn how to use our devices, such as our gas fireplace, touch screen refrigerator, induction cooktop or outdoor fire table. Wildlife abounds here so don't be surprised if I send you a text saying there's a fox basking under the evergreens or Mama Deer and her twins are back. I am at your service from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. I set breakfast out around 7am, but feel free to sleep in. Other things to note GUESTS WITH PETS... Please refer to House Rules.
