Description
The Highland Club is a collection of 4 and 5 star serviced self catered apartments set within 20 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds on the south shore of Loch Ness, cradled by the Caledonian Canal and the River Tarff. It occupies Grade A gothic buildings, the original 1729 English fortification, Fort Augustus, which became St Benedict’s Abbey. Located centrally in The Highlands, Fort Augustus Abbey promises comfort whilst exploring Urquhart Castle, Culloden, Clava Cairns, Skye or Ben Nevis. The space The Monks Chambers Apartment at The Highland Club can be found on the second floor of the sought after and prestigious Monastery building. This floor of the monastery originally provided the spartan accommodation for the Novice monks but has now thoughtfully been transformed into a stunning and now one of the larger one bedroom apartments. The apartment has fabulous elevated views of the grounds of The Highland Club and the Great Glen beyond. This delightful apartment has an open-plan living dining area with a separate kitchen accessed via a charming archway. The main living area has a lovely dark wood extendable dining table, desk, flat screen TV with Freesat, DVD player and an iPod docking station. The original sash windows have views out towards the beautiful hills. The separate kitchen has original features and is fully equipped with granite worktops and a small breakfast bar. The bedroom has a king-size bed and the bathroom has a powerful shower over the bath.
