Enjoy our calming light-filled studio retreat nestled on the second story among the treetops of the local gum trees in Soldiers Point Port Stephens, perfect for 1-2 adults. Newly built in 2023 on our property located on a private and serene street, backing onto the very special Soldiers Point Reserve - home to an abundance of bird life and koalas - you will hear the laughing of kookaburras throughout the day. The space Soldiers Point is a peaceful enclave of Port Stephens - some people want to get away from hustle and bustle, traffic, parking woes and crowds, and this is the location they choose! The benefits of easy access to all of Port Stephens, along with a calm place to escape and relax. From our property, it’s just a 1 minute walk down to a rocky beach perfect for a glass of wine at sunset. Further through the reserve, a 9 minute walk will take you to sandy Sunset Beach. At the end of the beach at the Marina is the local gourmet coffee shop “Sea Salt” for your morning caffeine fix and a yummy breakfast. Just a 3 minute drive away is Wanda Beach, which is one of our favourites. Supermarket, chemist, local eateries (including good fish and chips) are 4 minutes drive away. Busy Nelson Bay town centre with a number of restaurants and shops is just 15 minutes drive. If you are happy to drive a little further, gorgeous Dutchmans Beach is just 16 minutes (park near Christmas Bush Ave). There are many other beaches (26 in Port Stephens!) to explore including Bagnall Beach, Fingal Bay, Kangaroo Point Reserve and Stockton Beach. The famous Bannisters resort featuring Rick Stein’s restaurant, as well as a cafe, pub and spa is 19 minutes on foot (so you can enjoy a cocktail on the rooftop!) or 3 minutes by car. Port Stephens is famous for its range of beaches for swimming, snorkelling, diving, paddle boarding and kayaking (you can rent a kayak or paddle board locally if you want to give it a go!). There’s dolphin spotting year round, whale and seal watching during June-November, sand dune adventures at Stockton Sand Dunes (camel safaris, quad biking, sand boarding). Animal lovers will enjoy Irukandji Shark and Ray Encounters and the Koala Sanctuary. Fighter World is a fascinating aviation museum at the RAAF Base Williamtown. Golf lovers might be interested in Nelson Bay Golf Club, Pacific Dunes and Horizons Golf Resort. Climb up Tomaree Head or drive up Gan Gan to marvel at the great views. History buffs will also appreciate the Tomaree Heads fortifications (listed on the NSW State Heritage Register) and Tin City out at Stockton Beach. Alternatively, put your feet up, enjoy a good book and just relax in our calm stylish space! The studio has a beautiful airy feel with high ceilings and a cool modern aesthetic. The private entrance leads to a set of steps which take you up to the studio. The wrap around balcony is lovely for morning coffee and evening wine amongst the treetops. The king size bed is very comfortable and there is a wardrobe for hanging up your clothes. Watch smart TV in bed or on the Danish armchairs, with the option of logging in to your Netflix account. Free wifi onsite. Bed linen is provided. The deluxe bathroom contains a shower, sink and toilet, with cabinets for your toiletries. Shampoo and conditioner, body wash, hand soap and toilet paper are all supplied, along with fluffy towels and beach towels. The compact kitchen is fully equipped with electric four burner cooktop, electric oven, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and dishwasher. We supply tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, your choice of milk on arrival (dairy full cream or skim, almond, oat, soy). There is a full set of utensils and paper towels, aluminium foil, and cling film. Outside there is a gas BBQ for guests to use and an outdoor table and chairs. Access to the laundry is available via your host, with washing powder provided and an outdoor washing line. Heating and cooling is via an air-conditioner, ceiling fan or open the doors and windows (all with fly screens) to create gentle cross breezes. Guest access Studio is accessed by its own private external staircase with self check-in via a key box. We live in a separate stand-alone building on the same block.
