Our spacious (app. 850 sqft +) and charming garden cottage is a complete little house in an oasis-like setting with full privacy. The location in the Sycamore and Boyle Park neighborhood is in ideal walking distance to downtown Mill Valley, nearby shops, parks & restaurants. The space Please note for short term rentals: Mill Valley requires a total of 12% additional taxes on top of the airbnb rental amount for short term rentals (stays less than 30 nights). This will be shown on your invoice as a separate line item. Please “contact owner” prior to a reservation request to see if the space is available - ideally with a short description of yourself and the purpose of your trip. I feel much more confident renting to someone I ‘know’ rather than to a complete stranger ;-). This is a completely freestanding small house (app 850sf+), not only an attached 'studio/apartment': 1 bedroom, one large living room with office space and fireplace (for decoration only, not functional!), an extra sun room, and a separate dining room connected to the large chefs kitchen. Enjoy beautiful hardwood floors, a bathtub and a sweet and private outdoor seating space with BBQ. Guest access Discover your own sunny retreat in one of Mill Valley's most desirable, flat areas. This charming cottage is nestled quietly at the rear end of the property behind the main house, separated by a privacy fence and lush greenery. Guests love the secluded and private outdoor space, providing a true oasis for relaxing and outdoor seating. A small, exterior-access basement under the cottage, unfinished and with a low ceiling, provides a washer and dryer. The owner lives on-site in the main house and is available if needed. The path to the cottage is shared. Please note: No ADA features. There are steps without railing to the entrance, and the stone path to the cottage is narrow, rocky and uneven. This might make it difficult to navigate or access the cottage for people with mobility issues. Please see all pictures and ask questions prior to booking. Other things to note Local laws require us to apply 12% tax (=10% transient occupancy tax + 2% tourist tax) to the nightly rate for stays under 30 days.
