Manoir du Boscau, Gilles of the Forest

Our Manoir du Boscau is located in the Dordogne valley, opposite the majestic castle Castelnau-Bretenoux in the north of the department of Lot. The Manoir was built around 1450 by the Benedictine monk Gilles del Bosce, dean of the priory of the nearby Carennac. The estate consists of a private park garden with various terraces and seating areas surrounded by 10 hectares of forest and meadow, including a small private lake. The space 4-person apartment with private entrance on the north side of the Manoir. Open kitchen, dining area overlooking private terrace and sitting area with television and WiFi. Bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. Guests can use a private terrace with comfortable outdoor furniture and the possibility of barbecuing. The apartment has two bedrooms, each with a comfortable double bed. This starts with 9 villages in the vicinity that are classified and on the list of 100 most beautiful villages in France: The immediate surroundings of Manoir du Boscau are great for cycling or hiking. Within walking distance, the imposing castle Chateau Castelau-Bretenoux, the Collegiate St Louis and the picturesque villages of St Martin du Bois, Prudhomat and Felines. Because the Manoir is located on the edge of the valley of the Dordogne, it is possible to make reasonably flat beautiful bike rides. You have to take into account that the Manoir itself is a bit higher, so you start with a steep short descent and you end with the same, but then uphill. For sporty cyclists, it is also possible to cycle directly from the Manoir towards the rugged area of the Causse de Gramat. Please be aware of steep climbs and descents here and there.
