The Retreat

This unique place has a style all its own. Built in 2023, this boutique two ensuite bedroom apartment, with each room individually designed and decorated has every comfort. Pull up at your own entrance to this ground floor accomodation, with outside dining area and bbq. Then opens up to open field area to exercise your dog and family alike (please note, as shows on pictures, this area is not fully fenced). Within the immediate area are stunning walks and cycle routes. The space The Retreat is part of the ground floor area of our home built in 2023, on the edge of the village of Ainstable. Built in the field adjacent to our hotel, Heather Glen Country House, with bar and restaurant open weekends. For an extremely well stocked village shop you will travel one and half miles to Armathwaite village, where there are also two village pubs, one serving food seven days a week. From your apartment you immediately look out on to open field, then paddocks with our gorgeous Golden Guernsey goats Bee, and Bella, and our three Ouissant sheep boys! We are very dog friendly but ask that your dog is kept under control or on a lead when out doors, we are in a rural location with livestock in surrounding fields. The two ensuite bedrooms and open plan living space were specially built for our guests and family to stay. Both bedrooms lead of the main living area. This is our first year with Airbnb and hope we have thought of everything but please let us know prior to arrival of anything you would specially hope for to make your stay more enjoyable. Guest access Guests have direct access to the front parking area and in to open field area, but not paddocks where our sheep and pet goats are kept. We own Heather Glen Country House Hotel, in adjacent grounds. The bar and restaurant are open to use Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, as well as Sunday lunch. Booking is strongly advised. Should further bedrooms be needed, we have seven luxury boutique bedrooms, with four being dog friendly (two be added for late summer of 2024). Other things to note We are on the edge of the beautiful village of Ainstable, surrounded by cycle routes and walks. There is no public transport so own car or bike is required. In the closest village of Armathwaite, one and half miles away, Bob owns a fabulous and very well stocked village shop, two village pubs with one open serving food seven days a week, and train station on the famous Settle Line running between Carlisle and Leeds. Located midway between Carlisle and Penrith in the Eden valley, we are perfectly placed to visit the Lake District, Hadrians Wall, and the beautiful Solway Coast, or to take time out! Lastly, the coffee machine is a Nespresso.
