Charming, comfortable one bedroom Carriage House in the heart of historic Hyde Park, one of the oldest and most desirable neighborhoods in Tampa Bay. You will be short blocks from the shops and restaurants of Hyde Park Village, Kate Jackson Park, and the famous Goody Goody diner, home of the best hamburgers and homemade pies in town. Within a one mile radius of the Tampa Convention Center, University of Tampa, Tampa General Hospital, and the nightlife of Soho. One block from Bayshore Boulevard. The space Bayshore Boulevard is a linear water park that boasts the longest continuous sidewalk in the country. Take a stroll down Bayshore where you might see dolphins, pelicans, and manatees frolicking in Tampa Bay, and the Pirate Ship used by the Gasparilla Pirates who invade Tampa every year. Bayshore Boulevard water park connects downtown with Tampa’s new Riverwalk, another waterside pedestrian/bike path that includes Sparkman’s Wharf, which sports diverse food booths including oysters, Vietnamese specialties, craft beers, barbecue, and more, as well as Tampa’s newest urban entertainment/dining/residential district, Water Street. Just next door is Channelside, home of the Florida Aquarium, one of the finest in the country. A few blocks from Channelside you will find downtown Tampa, with its high rise buildings, restaurants, parks, the Gasparilla Music and Arts festivals, Tampa Museum of Art, Children’s Museum, markets, and the seasonal ice skating rink (open to the public) at Curtis Hixon Park. A few miles to the east you will discover iconic Ybor City, home to Tampa’s turn of the century cigar industry, which features the Columbia restaurant, Florida’s oldest Spanish restaurant, as well as shops, nightclubs, and grand buildings of the Latin Quarter. All Carriage House guests are encouraged to utilize the Japanese Meditation Garden located at the southwestern corner of the property. It was constructed as a family COVID project, and features a fountain, a teak bench, and a weeping yaupon tree. Guest access Guests are encouraged to enjoy the Japanese Meditation Garden located on the southwest corner of the property. Other things to note Your Carriage House is located in an astoundingly beautiful neighborhood. Houses were built generally between 1880 and 1920 and feature period architectural flourishes including columns, porches (even the Carriage House has a small one), rooster tails in the soffits, original wavy window glass, and gorgeous heart pine floors. Walk around and you will see Hyde Parkers out on their porches reading the newspaper, listening to music, chatting with their neighbors, enjoying a meal, or sharing a libation. The Hyde Park Porch Rule is that if you see anyone having a libation on their porch, you are perfectly welcome to come up and join them!
