The Apple Loft - part of a 16th Century estate.

The Apple Loft is literally a converted apple store. As recently as the 1990's we farmed, harvested and stored cider apples for Thatcher's Cider. It's private and well equipped including a private patio, hot tub & air conditioning. It's a perfect get-away and retreat for 2 people - or 6 if booked together with it's neighbour, Gardener's Cottage. The space So, I think it's vital to describe the property as honestly as possible. PLEASE take a moment to read through my scribblings before booking! The Apple Loft is accessed via cobbled yard, a 30 second walk from the car park through a courtyard. It is across the cobbled yard from Gardener's Cottage. Entering the Apple Loft through the original hand made door, repurposed for security and insulation, there's a hallway with coat & hat stand. A small, shallow step up to a bathroom with the entrance to the main living space on the left. The fridge is behind the door and not in the main living area so that it won't disturb your sleep. The bathroom has a decent space for changing and showering - with a massive heated towel rail, oversize heated / well lit / fog free mirror, vanity and toilet. Entering the main living space via a slate step down, there's a full kitchen with Neff induction cook top and combination oven. Sabatier knives and good quality cutlery & crockery. Cafetiere, kettle, toaster, food processor and more. Above the kitchen is the mezzanine bedroom area, accessed via a library ladder that folds up straight to save space (please have a look at the photos if you're worried about mobility and access). More about this in a moment..... The main space has a dining table made from the old apple storage racks, two Ercol wooden chairs, a 'Gentleman's Wardrobe' for your clothes and a lounge area with Next leather 3 seat sofa & love seat. Entertainment is provided by a Smart TV with a Bose stereo. Music, Amazon, Disney+, Paramount & Netflix are available, or you can sign in to your own accounts. There is a universal Bluetooth connection to the stereo to stream your own music through the Bose entertainment system, a smart TV with all the main streaming services. There is a mid century bar, a writing bureau and plug sockets with USB's all around. The mezzanine bedroom has a king size, low profile bed with storage, bedside tables made from marble and old wine crates with bedside lights and is enclosed by galvanised steel railings. There is a bar for hanging longer clothes from the ceiling. There are 4 south facing, double glazed windows with a lower 'hobbit hole' window providing amazing amounts of light. All have a double roller blind set up (thermal light blocking and mesh screen). There is a west facing window high up in the roof with an electronic, remote controlled roller blind. About 10 paces down the cobbled yard there is a private patio are for your own use - a sun trap with a BBQ, proper hot tub (not inflatable) and seating area to enjoy whatever weather is thrown our way:). Guest access You have your own entrance to the Apple Loft, and it is both quiet and private. Across the cobbled yard, there is our other AirBNB which has it's own entrance and private courtyard. Please have a look at the pictures to see the birds-eye view of both properties so you know get an idea for the layout. There is some traffic up and down the yard from other tenants of the estate, 2-3 cars max. There is a large, unfenced grass area available to walk your dogs or let them 'do their thing' (see the picture attached). You can also picnic there and relax / sunbath if you like - it is separate to the space, off of the main driveway. Other things to note The Apple Loft is part of a 16th century estate that needs to pay for itself - we're a very happy and laid back lot! You will likely see us and other tenants during your stay when you're out of the house, but you are assured privacy when in the house. I am mentioning - a bit like a broken record - the ladder to the mezzanine as I want to be sure that any mobility issues may cause problems. There is a patio exclusively for your use. It’s private and has a 2 person hot tub.
