The space The Varden is a historic 35-room hotel (1929) in downtown Long Beach. Local lore says a wealthy admirer built it for legendary circus performer Dolly Varden. Freshly renovated, it blends heritage with modern comforts: rain showers, low-flow toilets, designer furnishings, and free Wi-Fi. Each compact room features a full-size (double) bed with a memory-foam topper and quality linens. Guest access • The building is 3 floors, no elevator. • Parking: first-come, first-served and not guaranteed; 1 car per reservation. • Street parking: available but competitive at night, always check street-sweeping signs to avoid tickets. • Extra option: a public garage is a short walk away, $12 for 24 hours for an additional vehicle.
