Near Pine Ave and the East Village; walk to the Convention Center, Aquarium, and The Pike. Plenty of restaurants, bars, and cafés nearby. The space The Varden is a historic 35-room hotel (1929) in downtown Long Beach. Local lore says a wealthy admirer built it for legendary circus performer Dolly Varden. Freshly renovated, it blends heritage with modern comforts: rain showers, low-flow toilets, designer furnishings, and free Wi-Fi. Each compact room features a full-size (double) bed with a memory-foam topper and quality linens. Guest access • The building is 3 floors, no elevator. • Parking: first-come, first-served and not guaranteed; 1 car per reservation. • Street parking: available but competitive at night, always check street-sweeping signs to avoid tickets. • Extra option: a public garage is a short walk away, $12 for 24 hours for an additional vehicle. Other things to note This is a micro hotel. Rooms range between 110-130 ft² ·or 10-12 m². Before arrival, the lead guest must complete our virtual check-in form (ID verification with selfie and a signed rental agreement). If you park on the street, please follow posted signs, painted curbs, and meters to avoid tickets. For full transparency: you may hear normal city sounds—neighbors (footsteps, voices, TV/music) and daytime construction. Light-sensitive?
