Welcome to our home! This English basement unit has its own separate entrance with keyless code entry. We offer free private parking in the back of our home and patio access, which you will share with the host. Our home is located in the border of Edgewood/Brookland DC and close to many restaurants, shops, parks, breweries, and our personal favorite, the metropolitan branch trail. We are a 10-min walk to the red-line metro, and a 15-min bike or drive to the national mall (US Capitol/museums). The space This fully furnished suite includes a comfortable queen bed, a cozy living room area with a smart TV, a well-equipped kitchenette, and a recently renovated bathroom. NOTE FOR TALL GUESTS This suite is an English Basement and the private entrance to the unit is below the patio deck. The patio deck measures 5’8” in certain spots, so you may have to duck before entering the unit. Once inside, most of the unit is 6'6" (198cm) high, but there is a small section that is only 6' (183cm) high. *** If you are 6’ (183cm) or taller, please consider this before booking.*** Guest access Guests will have private access to the guest suite and are welcome to use the patio, which you will share with the host! Other things to note Early check-in and/or late check-out may be available for a small fee upon request. This unit is strictly non-smoking. We do not allow smoking within the unit or anywhere else on the premises. Breaking this rule will incur up to a $1,000 fee. We implement a strict no-shoes policy in the carpeted areas of the unit. We reserve the rights to implement a fine of up to $150 (the cost for us to have the carpet professionally cleaned) if we find the carpet to be excessively dirty at the end of your stay. NOTE: This is a basement unit and we live in the home upstairs. We make a conscious effort to keep our voices down and walk lightly—especially between 10pm and 9am—and most guests find the space comfortable and peaceful. That said, if you're particularly sensitive to ambient noise or looking for complete silence, this may not be the best fit for you. We have two cats who can be heard from the basement, and a newborn who sleeps and plays on the second floor and for the most part cannot be heard from the basement. NOTE: We do not perform any mid-stay cleaning. Please contact the host if you would like to schedule a mid-stay clean and we can discuss schedule and fees accordingly. This applies for both short and long-term guests. We will provide an extra set of bedsheets and towels for guests that are staying longer than one week.
