The Yurt at Waterperry (Oxford)

Luxury 6m yurt with wood burning stove and wonderful views across the fields 15 minutes from Oxford. Exclusive use of hot tub, fire pit, composting loo (it really doesn't smell!), shower and fully equipped kitchen. The only neighbours are likely to be our alpacas or our neighbour's calves. Walk across the fields to the pub or stay home, BBQ and enjoy the hot tub. Waterperry Gardens are just around the corner, hosting events throughout the summer or go further afield and explore nearby Oxford . The space When you enter the property, if you drive to the left of the garage, towards the stables you can park anywhere here. The Yurt is situated in a corner of the property and surrounded by a fence and gate for privacy and to keep any little animals out. However the cats might venture over and the chickens might occasionally visit too. Within the space you have private access to your own hot tub, toilet, shower and outdoor kitchen. There are also a couple of black plastic box’s which contain cushions, camp chairs, Yoga mats and a pop up gazebo. There remains one old shed for the time being, this is out of bounds and contains cleaning products, hosepipes etc. At the start of the path is an open store area with the lawnmower. We will occasionally put things here for guests so that we don’t disturb you. You’ll find more chairs here and a fan should you need it. If you would like to go anywhere else on the property we just ask that you ask first, especially if you want to enter into an area with animals. Guest access You can access and exit the property via the main gate. Once checked in you will have a fob to open the gate. Press the fob, top left button once and it will open, giving you roughly 20 seconds before closing again. You have your own allocated parking space in front of the stables as explained above. Feel free to come and go as you like, make yourself at home. There is a path that runs between the stables and leads to the rose gate which is the entrance to the yurt. Please don’t cross any fences without letting us know. On one side there are cows and horses and on the other there are Alpacas and goats. Please read the house rules concerning the animals and your safety. If you want to feed the animals please let us know, and remember to always wash your hands prior to and after handling any animals. It’s also a great way for me to share videos and images about how to use various things around the yurt such as the hot tub. Travel - If you want to stay local, there are a number of small walks. It’s a 25 min walk to the local pub across the fields and Waterperry gardens is a 10 min walk. If you want to travel further you will most probably need a vehicle. Thame isn’t too far away, and there is also the option of Thorn hill park and ride into Oxford. TOP TIP: Eye Masks - The new canvas has a clear roof crown, which on a clear night means you can sleep under the stars. But the downside is that not everyone wants to rise when the sun does in the morning. We have provided disposable eye masks. But if you have your own we would recommend bringing it.
